minty Posted January 12, 2008 Share Posted January 12, 2008 So I recently won a copy of the Big D / Brain Failure split for $12, and today I get a slip through my door saying that I need to pay £13.24 Customs Tax before I can collect it. So I pay the money and look at the mailer. The person who sent it said that the record was worth $60 (!), and any packages over $36 will be charged for tax. I've asked him for a refund of the £13.24, is this what everyone else would do? I pretty much had to pay double for the record because he wrote it was an expenisve piece of vinyl, when it totally isn't. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The funny thing is that all together the record cost me $24, and the tax is $26ish. Would it matter that the tax was actually more than how much I payed for the item? impact Posted January 12, 2008 Share Posted January 12, 2008 No, I filed a few calims myself in the past. you just got to have a legit story on why you are filing the claim. also, it is important to show PROOF to paypal. Okay, thanks a bunch! +1 I'll wait for the reply from the seller, and then take things further if I have to. $50 for quite a common Big D and the Kids Table record is absurd!
