jbannon
Labels: Digital Downloads system for your releases Our webmaster/programmer is making his/our Digital Download system available for labels of all sizes, check it out. It may be able to help you out. From vinyldownload.com: "...Our software was created to give every label and every band the chance to give their customers free (or value added) digital downloads to accompany their vinyl purchases without having to constantly pay out new fees. Buy it once, we install it on your hosting account and it’s yours from there. Add an unlimited amount of releases. Generate an unlimited number of coupon codes. Print your own coupon codes and insert them into the vinyl sleeves. It’s that easy. Your customers can now use the provided coupon code and URL to get their digital copy. Once their code has been used it can’t be shared and will expire within 48 hours. Vinyl sales saw large gains in 2008 and have shown continual growth year after year. Most labels and bands are taking advantage of this and digital downloads are the perfect companion to those beautiful pieces of vinyl..." More info @ http://www.vinyldownload.com/ Thanks. -J. jbannon
Different service than your hosted service. This is geared for labels that want to host their own files and be able to generate Digital Downloads on their own, without an outside party involved. Thanks everyone. -J. Which is why we're not really all that hub'bubbed about this new service -- I mean this is for labels that have enough together to warrant the $200 price tag and self-hosting. There's always going to be an up and coming band who just barely scraped enough together from under the couch to pay for their vinyl release. That's where we step in. VinylDownloads.com has always been about providing a low-cost and high-customer service for DIY labels and bands. We obviously have a different customer base than singular VD and there's no reason we can't all operate in harmony. Good luck and we'll see you at the Fest next year ;-), Wes @ VinylDownloads.com
