  1. Another thing you may want to keep in mind -- is if your Post office is Rural enough, they might start to see trends in your deliveries and "queue" shipments. For me -- it has gotten to the point where I will place 3-5 orders weeks apart at VC, they will all ship at their respective time-frames, but lo'n'behold -- they all show up on my door on the same day. VERY SNEAKY USPS.
  2. Put the order in @ No Idea last night. Might have to talk to someone about test presses
  3. blink182 tour shirt. and I've never regretted it once.
  4. Yeah saw these guys play baltimore a good handful of months back and totally melted my face off with raw hot sugar honey. Get yo' saccharine on. I only wish they'd put another album out soon :-|

  6. I really wish I could close these kinds of threads. One Lov<3 Scott and Nick. One Lov<3.
  7. Truth. I really hate it when threads like this get started. You have a handful of people on one side of the fence saying their grass is greener -- then the other people claim "no, this shit is pretty green over here bro'hams". Then there are people actually ON the fence grabbing blades from both sides and tossing them in the air and no one has any clue where anything is fucking landing. Bottom line? It's all grass baby. Maybe DF cuts theirs shorter than VD. Maybe VD has a more lush grow pattern. Maybe DF uses miracle grow and VD only uses manure. Maybe VD installed sprinklers but DF uses a natural irrigation pattern of the field. We might be "competing" but no one has stolen our back-end and if there's anyone claiming that DF stole any intellectual property from VD, well that's just plain bull. We're both doing our thang the best way we know how and as of yet neither of us has decided to partner with the other because there is simply no need. I really wish all this shit'talking would stop (regardless of whether it's about VD or not) and we all realize that this right here is the essence of a free market. I dunno, I just want to make it really clear that VD has absolutely no harsh feelings toward DF or any other DIY operations in the regards of digital downloads, wax or not. DropCards however -- imho -- are anything but the bee's knees and I'd rather see someone go to DF over VD if it meant DC got cut out of the loop. Now if you don't mind -- I have some grass to cut. --Wes.
  8. From left to right.... 12" Ghost Mice/Saw Wheel: split (purple marble under the cover) Ghost Mice/Andrew Jackson Jihad: split (black) Ghost Mice: Collection 1 (black) Ghost Mice: Collection 1 (test press) Chris Clavin: The roads don't lead... (black, yellow, red, blue) 7" Ghost Mice - AOTU (black) Ghost Mice/Brook Pridemoore: split (marble grey) Operation:Cliff Clavin/Connie Dungs: split (black) Operation:Cliff Clavin/The Max Levine Ensemble: split (marble grey'ish pink? idk) And because I forgot to include this the first time around... The Devil is Electric - I've never trusted.... (black) I'm missing mostly The Devil Is Electric and a few comps....not to mention all the "unofficial" stuff CC has been on. I also have most of the stuff that's out there on CD, but I don't feel like digging through all that right now. Oh and today I had ~5 records come in the most beat up inside-out USPS priority box and the left side was completely open and it would have been completely possible for something to fall out. Why can't people use a little common sense? At least they didn't come in a used pizza box, again.
  9. You obviously aren't taking advantage of this opportunity. It's incredibly clear to me that the time dial is busy and Bill and Ted are transmitting their lessons to you through - what other - than an amp at a college. Play along my good son, play along and one day you'll be high in the sky when the Wild Stallyn chariot arrives.
  10. Man, I'd buy that shit off him so fast his underwear's underwear would shit itself. Did you know they are doing a remake/sequel supposedly? I don't know which. Oh and if anyone else also owns the Rocky soundtrack on vinyl -- make sure to read the story by Stallone. "I should have known. He was Italiain."
  11. Which is why we're not really all that hub'bubbed about this new service -- I mean this is for labels that have enough together to warrant the $200 price tag and self-hosting. There's always going to be an up and coming band who just barely scraped enough together from under the couch to pay for their vinyl release. That's where we step in. VinylDownloads.com has always been about providing a low-cost and high-customer service for DIY labels and bands. We obviously have a different customer base than singular VD and there's no reason we can't all operate in harmony. Good luck and we'll see you at the Fest next year ;-), Wes @ VinylDownloads.com
  12. I'm a huge proponent of high quality audio, which is one of the reasons why I started VinylDownloads w/ KW. We usually inform labels that if they can, they shouldn't go any lower than 256kbps, and when it's applicable I'll suggest FLAC. I'd love to see the next Slackers or Kay Kay album come out w/ a FLAC encoding -- but I completely understand that some people 1) don't feel like downloading 200-500 megs for 1 album and 2) FLAC [to the best of my knowledge] doesn't play on most mp3 players. This is why we go with static URLs, that allow people on slower connections to use things like DownloadZilla or DTA (DownThemAll firefox plugin which I HIGHLY suggest) which allows for multiple "streams" of the file (if your ISP only lets you download at 300K per connection, but you can make 3 of these connections...you can setup DTA to use 3 threads, thus downloading at 300*3==900K per second). This also means if you're weird and still on dial-up, if your brother picks up the phone while you're grabbing the latest Under the Influence, you can just resume the download when you sign back online. All players should be able to handle 384kbps without issue, but transcoding down to a lower bitrate is supported in Amarok (linux) and Winamp (+ the pl_ipod plugin). This is great because if you have a bunch of CDs ripped as FLAC and want to toss them on your iPod, Winamp or Amarok will do all the work for you. No idea if iTunes does transcoding. Regardless, I've been thinking about ways to offer multiple bitrates per album, allowing the end user to pick the one they prefer. This of course relies on the ability of the band/label to provide us with multiple formats. Regardless, I really love how there are now multiple outlets for download codes, allowing the customer to pick what fits their budget the best. I can't stress hard enough though that people really should think twice about DropCard only b/c I find they tend to be hella'pricey and their flash based interface doesn't really allow for a positive user experience. --Reggie B
  13. I've traded w/ mystic before - and while he does live in Italy, his s/h prices are pretty decent. $10-13 to have an LP shipped safely from halfway across the world is totally worth it.
  14. listen to that shit once before you sell it. the KD side is meh' but the MPC side is rockular. ON SNAP PINHEAD GUNPOWDER JUST CAME ON!
  15. I don't need this -- but someone should def pick up the Kimya Dawson/ Matty Pop Chart- Split. The MPC side fucking melts my face off more than blending the latest Steinways 7inch complete discography (a whole 25minutes long!) and pouring it sensually in my ear. Bottom line? Someone snake this like it's something that's very very snakeable.
  16. ca you post the track listing of Fishbone It's A Wonderful Life EP Black CBS or a picture?
  17. You obviously haven't seen how this shirt looks with a black sweater vest, black slacks and suspenders.
  18. box set of this came today. shit fuckin' WAILS. I've been spinnin' the TBR side since I've been home (which is ~10 listens so far) and it's not getting even remotely old yet. FUCK TBR NEEDS TO DO A FULL DOOKIE COVER.
  19. Mad props on the CDungs. They rock my face off. Any idea what you're missing for a complete collection?
  20. For the Duration of the outage, all codes were broken. A key part of our functionality was disabled resulting in all codes to be "bunk". However once it was fixed, we removed any failed attempts to use codes. PM me if you have any more troubles. We've done testing and everything seems to be on the up and up at this point. Thanks!
