lokithelion
this series blows my mind. all of the episodes are fucked, but mermaid in a manhole might be the most disturbing horror film I've ever seen.
lokithelion
also let me state, unless you've got a strong stomach, can handle extreme violence, or just love pitch black cinema its probably best to stay away from this series.
mrc
havent seen any but was told to watch Flower of Flesh and Blood. i need to bump these to the top of my queue.
silentgods
one of japans famous serial killers was inspired by flower of flesh and blood. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tsutomu_Miyazaki
lokithelion
Flower of Flesh and Blood isn't the best though its up there. Check out mermaid first. Then go through the rest. Mermaid is haunting, but its also one of the few films to almost make me puke. The b-side of the mermaid dvd is fucking awesome though. That movie is about a guy who can't die. Its splatterific. podface
i saw these a couple of years ago when i thought i was really into gore... it turns out that im just really into slapstick gore (dead alive, evil dead, and so on) as this disturbed the fuck out of me. didn't charlie sheen like shit his pants publicly about these films? i think he thought they were real or something.. teganandsara
so they're not available in the states? The wiki page says they are 'In 2005, the US company Unearthed Films released the first truly complete box set'. There is alos a region free box set. teganandsara
I was wondering if these movies are as scary as The Leprechaun because that movie seriously shattered my world for a couple weeks after seeing it.
lokithelion
You are talking about a different Leprechaun right? Also Aftermath is amazing, but again brutal. These are available in America now and totally worth a purchase for gore/horror fans.

If you like Splatstick you should check out the second feature with Mermaid in a Manhole, about a guy who can't die. Shit is hysterical.
