AlexH.
I was going to get some sleep, but now looks like I'll be listening to this on repeat for a while.

AlexH.
So, great album obviously. Some things: -So much tambourine on this album! Like every song has a little bit. Also lots of other percussion stuff that was never on Pedro albums (like SLEIGH BELLS OMG) -The fake handclaps on Heavy Breath are really distracting. Probably the only thing I don't like on the album. -This version of When We Fell is way more upbeat than I was expecting. Totally digging it, though. -In Stitches is probably the most heartbreaking song he's ever written. -No swearing on this one. Thought that was interesting. Preorder is on 8/10, I will be buying the shit out of this.
cactusbot
Very, very good. Usually he takes a very minimalist approach to songs, whereas, on this album, there are way more layers. But beneath it all is still the same old Bazan. This is a lot less of a rock record too than his other stuff. More poppy. Not a big fan of Lost My Shape, only song I am not totally stoked on. The last two songs are incredible though. In Stitches might be the best song he has ever written.
kidamnesiac
This is a really, really great record. Been listening to it all day (thanks to a good friend ). I can agree with the layers thing, Brent. You can tell he's been messing with this one a while in post-production. I've had live versions of a few of these songs for years now and I must say that I'm super happy with how they've turned out. First four tracks are ultra solid. I wane in interest a little ways in to "Fewer Sparks" but I start to pay closer attention by the time "Heavy Branches" rolls around. Not that the songs in between aren't good! They just don't keep me riveted like the rest do. Will buy.

voodooramen
Fucking fantastic album, as expected. Fresh sounding even though I have heard most of these songs from live recordings for a while now.
nickz123
after listening to it a couple times I really prefer the Live at Grey Eagle recordings much more. These seem way to over produced for Dave. I'm pretty disappointed
