chaps Posted August 7, 2009 Share Posted August 7, 2009 Ever since I started running 4+ miles I cannot digest cheese or processed foods anymore. My lactose intolerance from when I was a kid has come back, this is common for most runners who work up to marathon lengths. So its time for me to do more research on going vegan. Animal Ingredients A-Z is a great reference book to start with. It can be confusing because a lot of stuff can be from an animal source or from a vegetable based source. For myself, if it has the possibility of being from an animal source, I try my best to not ingest it, but I don’t lose sleep if I go out to eat with omni’s and the bread may have mono-diglicerides in it. It really comes down to how much time and energy you want to put into the change to vegan. Vegan Freak is an enjoyable book that has a bunch of information in it.
