leerobert
Hey, I need a new Wireless router, quite obviously wanna take the 'N' route but don't really know what router to go for. I've checked out a few on amazon & the customer reviews are always really varied. Anyone have a decent one or know what I should go for? That looks like a good router but its pricey and honestly a home router with QOS is nice but its not really necessary. And personally, I'm not a fan or antenna. I like the Linksys because you don't have to aim anything and its got great coverage. It moves the signal around things as opposed to through them. faith
"""N""" is all great and stuff but it's not even standardized yet. It's just a draft Which mean that by the time the real standard is released, whatever devices you buy that are "N" might not work with the real standard anymore and which also means that if you get a 3com "N" router, your linksys "n" card might not work at full speed with it. punkrudeboy
I've had a Netgear and a Dlink as well as Linksys, and Linksys are the only ones really worth it. Cisco has their own home/home office line thats quite nice but they're pricey.
kittenmittons
linksys. 100%. we're using a G right now and haven't had many problems. my bf is a manager at a computer repair company so i guess if it's good enough for him...and i think it runs around 50-70 bucks. not too bad. davezer
only reason i suggested the one i did is that it hasnt crapped out on me yet, and handles 8+ wireless connections without any problem. I think my parents have a Linksys that they like. Just stay away from anything that Belkin makes! pure shit!

kittenmittons
we have a hacked up OG xbox that we use for media center...we used to do it wirelessly but the signal would always drop and make watching a full movie or show nearly impossible so we just hardwired it.
