goraiders
A FEW RULES AND GUIDELINES FOR CAMPFIRE FEST 2010 ATTENDEES. We are super excited to be able to bring all of these great performers together in one spot. An event of this nature and size does need some sort of organization though so here are a few things to consider before you head on up to Shasta! - Bears. There are Black Bears in the area so you will need to remember to keep all food locked up in the provided storage boxes or in your car. - Heat. It can get really hot on the lake this time of year so make sure you bring appropriate attire and sunscreen. Sun=good, Cancer=bad. - Water. Remember that even though we are surrounded by water you still should bring some drinking water. You WILL need to hydrate yourself. Beer unfortunately doesn't have the powers of our friend H20. - Conduct. Although we are all most likely professional boozers, it is important to keep in mind we are renting this space. It does not belong to us. We need to treat the campsites better than if it was our own property. We would like to continue doing this for years to come, SO PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL!!! We WILL ask trouble makers to leave immediately. Nobody likes a party pooper. - Family. See above. This event strives to build our community, so please keep in mind that there will be children around. Just be mindful of virgin eyes and ears. - Parking. We can only allow 24 cars in the group site. This means that everyone SHOULD CARPOOL! If you can afford renting a space of your own, it wouldn't hurt but is not necessary, we're trying to keep the parking to a minimum. We can have ONLY 120 people in the campsite any given time and no more than 24 cars! Please respect the campsite's rules! - Money. Although the show is free, please bring along some cash to toss in the hat and help keep these bands doing what they do. The bands are all kind enough to play for free for us and the least we can do is pass around the hat to show them some love. There will also bring their merch, so buy a band shirt, cut off the sleeves and blast their cd and help them pay for some gas. There will also be a Strummerville donation set-up. Strummerville is a registered charity that "aims to create new opportunities for aspiring musicians. Set up by the friends and family of Joe Strummer in the year after his death, the charity seeks to reflect Joe's unique contribution to the music world by offering support, resources and performance opportunities to artists who would not normally have access to them." Find out more here, www.strummerville.com - Attendance. We are trying our best to keep the number of people attending under control. PLEASE DO NOT INVITE ANYBODY OTHER THAN WHO IS ON YOUR RVSP LIST! Unfortunately we will have to ask them to leave. - Hirz Bay Link. http://www.recreation.gov/camping/Hirz_Bay_Group_1_Ca/r/campgroundDetails.do?contractCode=NRSO&parkId=71927 - HAVE FUN!!!! lifebystereo
I wish this wasn't so far north. I'd love to see Kevin Seconds, Bastards of Young, and Ty Vaughn in this format.
