mutinyzine
Shit, that's quite a line-up. I've heard good things about this festival, too bad I'll probably never go.
goraiders
Shit, that's quite a line-up. I've heard good things about this festival, too bad I'll probably never go. Especially considering there are usually 60 or so bands and none of these seem quite headliner worthy considering in the past its been elvis costello, steve earle, billy bragg etc Also the guy who puts it on and pays for the whole thing, Warren Hellman, sounds like the coolest guy ever. "I describe the festival frequently as the world's most selfish gift. It's a fantastically selfish gift, but it is a gift. There are hundreds of thousands of people there who are appreciating it. Just being able to do something that is completely not commercial, that is pure, hopefully, pleasure for the participants--to create a surrounding where the musicians and professionals like it as much as the crowd does. How could you have more fun than that? What the hell is money for if it isn't for something like that?"
One Hundred Fifty-Two
That dude rules. Also, Umphrey's rules. Don't let the "jam band" tag turn you off immediately. They mix in a whole range of genres and work extremely hard to really push their sound.
