mcm1610
Cleaning out classrooms the other day, a coworker offered me a record player that was given to him by another teacher. He said he never even tried it because he had one that works and doesn't need another. I have it here at home and during it's test run I've discovered that the table turns too slowly. Like.. 20rpm instead of 33. It's belt-drive, apparently, but I can't figure out how to get the platter off to see what's up with the belt or if it's a motor issue. So questions, if anyone has seen this player before... (it's from like.. 1991 or so) -How do you get the platter off? -Is it worth putting money into fixing if it's got a bum motor or something? -Is it a piece of shit? Is it ok?
