I had a Yamaha (great bass) and I'm now going for a Fender Deluxe Active Jazz Bass (White with Brown Shell Pickguard). I'm about halfway there. mcpherson123 Posted August 25, 2011 Share Posted August 25, 2011 I just want to throw out there that the new Squier Vintage Modified Jazz and Jaguar basses are absolutely awesome and for a fraction of the price of most Fender basses of the same model style. I've always looked down on Squier as a "beginner" or "just plain shitty" brand but these new basses are really changing my mind on that.
