nateleeg
So I just re-tubed my Peavey Rockmaster Pre-amp with Electroharmonix 12ax7 ECC83 Gold Pin tubes, and it's really really quiet, something seems up. I dont know if it just takes time for them to warm up to normal levels or if maybe something is wrong, anybody out there know much about the subject? I'de really appreciate some feedback :

Thats what I'm afraid of, maybe if I keep it cranked up while playing they might break in and increase in volume? Ha man this sucks

kylekrische
I always keep an extra/old set of preamp and power tubes. The amount of issues you can figure out instantly by just swapping them. The swap is your best bet, if it starts working fine again you should be able to send them back/return them for being faulty.
zacaroo21
How quiet are we talking? I can't turn my 40watt amp past 3 without it being incredibly too loud for its own good. Maybe you're better off!
nateleeg
Ehh maybe I shouldnt have picked them up off an ebay seller, the guy had nothing but lots of good feedback for different tubes. As for the levels, when I turn it up all the way it's like maybe 20% of it's normalax volume, I'm guna contact the seller and see if he'll swap
nateleeg
It's looking I'll be returning them on account of being faulty, I think I'll just go with some JJ's again this time. Thanks for the input guys
