necronomidom
HERE"S THE FULL WRITE UP: Concrete Cross formed out of the wreckage of several prematurely aborted NYHC bands including Sick of Talk, Disnihil, Celebrity Murders, and others even less memorable. Accordingly, Concrete Cross maintains strong roots in misanthropy, mania, and self-sabotage. To wit: - Upon the band’s formation in NYC in 2010, vocalist Artie Philie promptly picked up and moved to Chicago, stifling the bands progress in order to live in a world where people don’t know how to parallel park or make a decent pizza. - Drummer Anthony “Tone” Corallo then assumed drumming responsibilities for legendary NYHC unit Sheer Terror in order to deliberately ensure as much time as possible could be spent among bald and shirtless older men. - Tom Clavin, guitarist, suddenly realized that human interaction and the English language itself had become monstrous and threatening to his fragile psyche. His only defense: self-medicate with music, Grand Theft Auto, and sporadic fits of yard work. - A series of bass players have come and gone because they fucking just can’t handle it. Despite all of this, Concrete Cross continues to malfunction in forward motion. A bunch of live shows / tempter tantrums have been had all around the northeastern U.S., and those disasters will likely spread to the rest of the country in short order. The first, self-titled LP, recorded in Tom’s fucking basement on a bunch of equipment stolen from a Guitar Center or something, will also be shat from the womb in 2013. Musically there are nods to Die Kreuzen, Corrosion of Conformity, the Accused, Citizen’s Arrest, and similar bands only a handful of weirdoes give a shit about. The lyrics all have to do with freaking the fuck out, but not in a fun way. The future looks bright like a mushroom cloud. Get in on the ground floor of this nightmare quickly so the elevator can fall on top of you. Oh, and buy a T-shirt.
