Man Suits
I have been wondering... How many of you on here use one of these? Is it essential with certain turntables as opposed to others? Is it something that is without a doubt a must have. For instance I have thrown around the idea of trying to get my hands on a Pro-Ject Carbon someday when I can afford it. Would a Force Gauge be absolutely necessary in addition with this table? I just haven't heard much discussion on this piece of equipment, and I'm quite curious.. jdtg
I've also been looking at the digital scales on eBay/amazon and wondered how many people use these? Are they worth it, at what point do they make sense?
trott3r
I have used mine for ages so i cannot remember using a TT without one. I have a shure gauge for my project Perspective TT
seangj
I have a Shure for my Scout. Really useful when replacing the cart or just making adjustments here and there.
Man Suits
I have a Shure for my Scout. Really useful when replacing the cart or just making adjustments here and there. So, would this be absolutely necessary with a turntable like the debut carbon and the like? Or would turntables like these be decently accurate right out of the box with the carts that they come with?
seangj
I would get one. You will need to set the weight on your carbon when you get it, so this will be helpful. Plus it is pretty cheap.
kannibal
I vote no. The Shure is cheap, but other scales can be quite expensive, and unless you change carts often, and/or invest in extremely sensitive equipment, it's a waste. The Carbon really doesn't need it as it can be zero balanced. But if it helps you sleep better at night...
