  1. So I've recently purchased a chromecast audio, hooked it up to my audio setup, and with high dynamic range enabled I'm very pleased with the sound. Which audio players do you guys use with your Chromecast audio, or similar alternative? I enjoy being able to stream Spotify and the like at higher quality than Bluetooth with ease, but I'm currently disappointed at the lack of a scrobbling feature for last fm. I am also disappointed with the inability to cast from bandcamp, but the simplicity and convenience of the device more than make up for it. I'm currently trying to get this https://github.com/k9ordon/chromecast-audio-scrobble working to add scrobbling capabilities, but was curious if anyone on VC had any insight on an alternative way to do this. Chromecast general thread.
  2. Just heard about this today and signed up immediately. I have been waiting for a HIFI streaming service to replace my compressed spotify streaming service. Ive been using it all afternoon and the sound quality is extremely impressive!! Looks like i'll be canceling my spotify service in replacement of this. http://exclaim.ca/Music/article/jay_z_launches_his_tidal_streaming_service The company's blurb as as follows: "Introducing the first music streaming service that combines the best High Fidelity sound quality, High Definition music videos and expertly Curated Editorial." Tidal's Premium service costs $9.99 a month, while the loss HiFi service costs $19.99. They're available to test as a free 30 day trial. Unlike Spotify, it doesn't offer a free tier. 3. I watched this the other night and thought it was really cool. Features interviews with J Bannon and Ian McKaye among others. More info below: http://www.smallhoursjournal.com/post/104663084731/dither-the-diy-sound
  4. Out January 15th on Hardware Records (tests have been approved, pre-order up soon), available on limited green coloured wax and standard black. Anyone else stoked for this? All the EPs & splits this band have released are killer, and the s/t 7" still stands out as one of my favourite releases of all time.
