  1. Thanks, says there's only 20 or so left on her site, ordered it immediately. I just wrote a note via paypal that I would appreciate if should could autograph the jacket, we'll see. I'm happy either way!
  2. I hear you, I'm sure it's something easy to fix, but maybe tough to sort out, good luck.
  3. Do you have a multimeter to measure for DC offset from the amp? I had the same issue with one of my ProAc's. One tweeter was dead, replaced the voice coil and then that started having issues a few months later. Luckily for me, the original voice coil dying was just from old age, and the replacement had gotten debris in it which was causing distortion. I cleaned it out and it's been fine since. I think DC offset is usually more harmful to the woofers, but could still be something to look into.
  4. In terms of lack of bass since the upgraded cartridge. Is it possible that you need to give it a little break in time before getting a full response from it? I've noticed differing opinions on cartridge break in periods, but a lot of what I've read is that the bass can be a bit light until you've put 20-30 hours on it or more. New speakers are always nice regardless.
  5. Very nice, 3 fresh Clash LPs to replace worn ones and Broken Bells for under $70, not bad!
  6. Well this is new, insound charged me the $100+ from my full order, most back ordered though. Then I got a notice that 2 are processed, for $27 of the order. Now I have a second debit on paypal for $70 ish, which happens to be exactly original full price of the order, minus the only 2 records I'm getting for sure?!? So basically they charged me for my order, and then charged again for just the records back ordered. I know this will get resolved, but seriously?
  7. Just upgraded my turntable thanks to advice from folks here, this is the basic set up, can you tell I have a kid? Also my other 'listening' space.... ProAc Response 3.8 speakers Marantz 2275 Funk Firm LSD (thanks allenh!)
  8. Yeah, so the sale was for 'select in stock items' but most of mine got back ordered during checkout. They took my money for them all, so I'm expecting those back orders to eventually ship, but it conflicts with the sale being for in stock items.
  9. I noticed that too, wanted that Arcade Fire, but only a few bucks off.
  10. Actually, they're charging for the backorders, so maybe they will honor them
  11. Eh, all the ones I really want are backordered, plus, after shipping I'm not seeing enough savings to order a while bunch of record just because. Might just ditch...
  12. Should be interesting to see what other stuff he develops, during this journey I read up on everything I could about him and his products. Pretty much everything I read & heard, even the negative stuff made me want one of his turntables even more. A couple local high end dealers used to cary Pink Triangle and ditched it due to his quirkiness as well as some QC issues. But they all admitted, when his stuff was set up and working, nothing in the price range could touch it. It's just seemed that it became too much of a PITA to carry his stuff. So far, I'm still blown away by how good this is sounding, admittedly I jumped up quite a bit from a lesser TT and cartridge, but still, I'm loving this. Not only in sound but looks too, just a classy but understated design. I'm not 100% sure I have it totally set up perfectly, at least in terms of overhang. Tracking weight and VTA etc seem to be dialed fine, I don't hear any distortion or anything like that, and it seems like there's so many contrasting opinions regarding the null points, over hang is more a preference. Regardless, I'll probably bring it by a shop over the next couple weeks to get a more experience tech see if anything looks off to them. I don't mind spending a few bucks to feel at ease with that side of things! That said, did I mention this sounds Phenomenal!
  13. Update, and again, a huge thanks to all the excellent advice, special thanks to allenh! I ended up finding a great deal on a preowned Funk Firm LSD. It arrived the other day and after spend a couple hours reassembling it, I had a little scare. The shop I bought it from is a dealer(this was a trade in) so I bought a benz micro silver cartridge from them as well. When I felt like it was dialed in close enough to try a song, I ended up with no sound, just hum from the right channel. Luckily after some testing, it turned out to be a bad cartridge. Bought a Dynavector 10x5 instead from a local shop and gave it a spin yesterday. I'll admit, I was a little concerned I wouldn't hear a significant difference from my earlier table, wasn't sure how subtle it might be. Wow! This thing sounds incredible, I was hearing instruments I didn't even realize were there from before. Everything sounds tighter, punchier, and much better separation overall. I'm totally stoked over this turntable! Still need to do some more adjustments but I can tell this is a keeper! obligatory pic:
  14. This would be amazing, there's a handful of LP's that seem to be plentiful over there I want, a few would be: Supergrass - I Should Coco Stereolab - Dot's and Loops & Emperor Tomato Ketchup in colored vinyl The Bees - Free the Bees Bjork Post on pink(you got it) Some from Thee Michelle Gun Elephant I could go on...
