simple and to the point, 4 labels teamed up worldwide (Epidemic & Assurd in Italy, Eastrain in France and Headfirst! in the U.S.) to get this released out there. having worked with False Light on both their previous releases - we picked up the U.S. portion of this killer split. U.S. tour with both bands begins early August, records should be out right around that time. limited color of vinyl is almost gone (each label had under 30 copies) and preorders went live about an hour ago.
order now:
US: Headfirst! RecordsEurope: Epidemic Records

howdy everyone, just wanted to give a heads up - my small family and I are going to be moving into a new place in the near future (bought our first home at 34 years old) - doing the last lil steps and holiday will delay it a few more days either way not far off!
we did a private 35% off sale for past customers and cleared a lot of space (the less we have to move the better!)
now part two is the public sale 30% off. all vinyl, tapes, stickers, patches and no discount code needed applies automatically. please list a couple alternate titles in the notes - and larger orders shipping can get wonky - alternates will help us pack in lots of extras to help make sure you get well well over your $$$'s worth.
any other labels or distros feel free to gobble things up for your own stores also - I don't mind passing them along if it means we drag less with us!
hope everyone is doing well!

I saw on Endicia the rates changed, and its ingrained in my head how much certain packages cost when adding shit to the spreadsheet working on orders and got really confused for a minute today when it was 3.22 instead of 3.40 then realized what the deal was!
weird there is a change they made that I actually like - it might only be 20 cents or so but we ship a fuckton of media mail out!
-
I guess this is fixed now. Was talking to them about what we can do to work around this issue and got to here:
"Any future orders you get through paypal, we'll send the shipping address, and you'll have seller protection. Totally oversight and screw up on our part."
update: things are resolved now
wow that sounds like a huge mishap on LR's part. idk what stripe is, but that's an obvious coding error. it's pretty shitty that their only rebuttal is to say "who uses paypal for shipping?"
also storenvy BLOWS
just came back to update/edit my posts and say it is totally resolved now. they have the same functionaillity for the buyers when checking out and regardless of using stripe/paypal or both - functions same as it should kicking the address over to paypal when ordering.
there was an issue. they didn't think it could be fixed right now. they fixed it right now. there is no longer an issue.
party on
there is a reason I've always liked any interactions I've had with them in a past. glad they were able to get it worked out to functon the same and still be better on the buyers end.
-
Interesting. So does this only apply if you ship through PayPal? I run most of my orders to the post office and have never used the Limited Run interface.
Maybe it's time to look into Storenvy :/
edit: it is totally fine now. nothing to see here!

redacted.
there was an issue. they didn't think it could be fixed right now. they fixed it right now. there is no longer an issue.
party onif limitedrun is a service you enjoy using - it is no different to use now than it was before regardless of if you use paypal or stripe processing or both together.

bump - vinyl shipped from the plant today - preorders still going! glow in the dark is almost gone from both labels (less than 5 left I believe from us)
still got time to get in if you'd like a copy:http://bittermelodyr....limitedrun.com or http://headfirstrecords.limitedrun.com

he is alright in my books!

I put in an old address for an order once. Shot them an email got a reply within an hour. Always happy when I see a box with some deathwish tape on it.
been ordering personally from them for many many years now, and now order a ton of distro stuff from them - never had a single issue with them. tons of freebies, always packed well and shipped promptly.
they have quite a well oiled machine going for their store end of things.

I don't think anybody else is listening. It's not in the inner grooves where tracking errors are most common. It's also not the entire song. Just this bit, if it was, wouldn't the entire song sound this way if it was the cartridge? I just tried a second copy of Iron Maiden's debut (my other copy had this problem on one part) and it's not there. Proof it's not the setup, which I already knew. It's something in the record. Apparently it's not static or dirt/dust (I cleaned it several times).
Come on now. Somebody out there has to know what is wrong with this record. I truly don't believe this problem is only inherent to me.
sometimes the best advice is to listen to others who are all telling you the same thing. so if it is not your setup - and you have officially decreed that it is something wrong with the record - what exactly is your question? did you just want to gripe that a couple of your records do not play right in certain spots? there are plenty of reasons that can happen even on the nicest of setups - as more than a few people have pointed out why those reasons are.
not to mention that some records just flat out have defects, hell look at any of the threads on new reissues or records that have been reissued multiple times - almost all of them will have vastly different characteristics while listening to.
-
just wanted to say - I have regularly lurked this thread for a long long time - always had more money tied up in other things and neglected a nice home setup for records. had been using a cheapo $15 thrifted 80s yorx all in one with a wanna be slide out record tray in the bottom of it for the past 7 years.
almost died earlier this year and spent too long recovering decided I'd start the process of putting together our system this year. had been scouring second hand and picking and choosing things as we can on a budget. will be upgrading over the next year. no good place to set it all up but will post a photo when i can soon!
currently using:Denon AVR-2000 receiver ($40 in like new condition, flawless w/ remote)
Denon DRM 700A tape deck (early 90s 3 head unit) $8 same as above. thrift store for this, estate sell a few months later for the receiver. both were made 90-91 from what I saw - aesthetically look nice paired up.
Teac PX-300 - turntable with the original teac headshell and whatever audio technica cart came with it - my parents old turntable that was well cared for but has been packed away for 20 years. has a NOS replacement cart with it also - still sucking up more info and reading a lot of random forums online to see if its worth bothering switching anything on it or just waiting till I get to upgrade to a nicer TT - but for now this works just fine for my tastes!
pioneer SP-BS22's from amazon (warehouse deal) which are fine for the space/price, then found a pair of KLH 9912B in nice shape and working well for $20 while out hunting things so snagged them - both will be used eventually but in our current house/setup not sure which and how yet. but for now the KLH's are hooked up.
looking forward to slowly working my way up but compared to what I was using up till a month or two ago? stoked!

In case anyone was wondering, Merch Swap is definitely bad news. I too bought a record from someone on there, and he literally taped WRAPPING PAPER around the sleeve, wrote my address on it, and shipped it out. No cardboard involved whatsoever. You can imagine how it showed up.
So yeah, I repeat myself, avoid merch swap.
I've bought at least 15 records from 4 different people on there and not ran into a problem yet. if you don't know who you are dealing with make sure beforehand they understand how to package items and make sure they aren't just going to throw it in a plastic bag and send it on its way.
there are definitely a lot of idiots in that group, but every once and a while you will run across some alright people. (same as anywhere really). it is definitely somewhere I'd be more cautious buying from - not send shit as a gift, and be annoying with asking questions and making sure you and the other person are on the same page for buying/selling/trading.

not much longer left to pre-order this one! check out a lil live test video I did of them a few months ago messing around with our new camera: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eoHHcDMIHJw

This is a bad-ass record.
both labels have copies on gold and green for sale now <3
http://bittermelodyrecords.limitedrun.com/
http://headfirstrecords.limitedrun.com/
we both carry a decent variety of other stuff we've relesed (co-released together!) and distro items. chances are you might find some other stuff you'll like - and we generally are nice friendly folks.

back to the top, cause one of the new old flings songs from this split. rules.
but for now here is a video of them from yesterday:
-
These are real cool
if you can find some friends to go in ordering somewhere between 10-25 i think was the sweet spot - the price isn't *too* bad. I ended up just buying whatever the best value was and then offered the extras I had leftover to friends at cost and had no trouble gettin rid of them. they aren't the sturdiest things ever but still a bit more attractive/better than the regular ol' cardboard ones.
also keep in mind when looking at them online the number they show they hold 45s with no covers or anything I'd have to doublecheck but I think we can fit around 140-150 records in the longboxes and somewhere around 70 in the shorter ones
-
I use: these for our personal record collection. have them placed sideways 2 boxes to a cubby in our xpedit in I think 8 boxes
https://www.bagsunlimited.com/p-3946-45-record-storage-box-font-colorredplastic-corrugatedfont.aspx
then for the label and distro stuff, we have 8 of these larger boxes stored- 4 underneath and 4 on top of a coffeetable we no longer use for a coffeetable
