Got my account back. I filled out that google form about 10 times with different dates every time so one of them must've been right. The IP address apparently came from Indonesia, but doing a network lookup it says it comes from the US, so who knows. And I think everyone one the VC Co-op list got the mail. I checked all my settings and they had also changed them to automatically forward and delete any incomming emails, also deleted all of my contacts. Annoying. But still, glad to have my account back with a new password.

Yeah, super sorry about this Everyone in my contact list received that email. There are quite a few people on the google forums that have experienced the same problem as I have.

Yeah, I thought my password was pretty strong, obviously not strong enough. I filled out that report but could've got the date wrong (I can't really remember when I started using gmail) I also posted on the help forum so hopefully it gets sorted soon. I feel violated

So I woke up this morning thinking it'd be just a regular Thursday, turns out I was wrong. I'm at work and at around 1:55pm(SA time) I receive an email to notify me that I have requested a new password for Facebook, a minute later I get an email to say that my password has been changed. I then receive an email from "myself" to say that "I" am stuck in Leeds after being robbed and to please lend "me" $1200 to settle hotel bills and things. I quickly try to login to my gmail account and it says that my password is incorrect. I try to reset the password and the reset instructions are sent to an email address I don't recognize. My girlfriend saw "me" on facebook this morning but thought it was just me so didn't do anything. My profile hasn't been changed in any way and no spam was sent from there so I'm not sure what the point of that was. So someone took control of my gmail, sent spam to my entire contact list, reset my facebook password for no apparent reason and left me with no way to reset my gmail or facebook password. Does anyone have any experience in this kind of thing? Is there anything I can do? I already reported it to google, but their form asks for a date that I started using gmail, which was a number of years ago so I just guessed. Not sure if anything will come out of that. The most annoying thing is that I'm not even anyone important, but I used that email for everything outside of work

I installed OSX on my pc, with very little trouble. I used the Kalyway boot disc and had to find and install a couple drivers for my wireless, sound, and graphics card. It works great though, I have it running on a seperate hdd from win7 so I can just switch the boot priority in the bios to switch between the two systems. I love it, but it actually makes me want a mac more
