  1. Yeah. You get the 7-inch if you either order it directly from the publisher or buy it from a record store. You get more bang for your buck from Sinecure though, since record shops aren't carrying the edition with the slipcase, poster, etc.
  2. Thought some people might be interested in this one. https://www.sinecurebooks.com/shop/sounds-of-two-eyes-opening-slipcase-exclusive/ Spot, the SST Records producer and engineer, is putting out a book of his photography from the 60s - 80s. Lots of crazy shots from the Southern California hardcore punk scene during its heyday. Black Flag, The Germs, etc. Book comes with a slipcase, poster, photo print, and silkscreened 7-inch. Looks like Ed Templeton did the slipcase artwork too.
  3. or maybe i'm misremembering and this isn't a thing.
  4. This is bugging the shit out of me and I had to bring it here. My co-worker had on "Chicago" by Frank Sinatra and I had a vague memory of someone drunkenly singing it in a movie. Maybe not drunkenly but still. I know this is super vague but does this ring any bells for anyone?
  5. My apologies for ruffling any feathers with the post. Thought some of you might have been interested to hear developments from the horse's mouth.
  6. In a recent interview, Fred Feldman, owner of Triple Crown Records, confirmed that there will be a Deja Entedu vinyl reissue. From the interview... Haha, that’s my favorite question! It’s one of those things where I have to remind myself not to be a dick. (laughs) I have a very close relationship with the band, and they always want to put music out a certain way, both aesthetically and sonically. That’s why I don’t want to just press it and put it out there. When we reissued Your Favorite Weapon they went back and remastered the whole thing. They always want to do things a little bit differently. It’s going to come, that’s all I am going to say, and hopefully there will be a few surprises included as well. The band was very important to me and the label, so I don’t want to just press it and put it out there because it’s not what they would want. I like when people ask me about this from an innocent angle. Kids will suggest pressing it again to me as if it’s something we have never heard before. I get it. It bums us and the band out when we go online and see how much some people are willing to pay on eBay for copies.
  7. argh damn it this is so tempting. been regretting sleeping on the original pressing for so long only for its price to sky rocket. this price is right on the cusp.
  8. New Jack White LP is up for pre-order. What everyone's going to be talking about though are all the bells and whistles on this thing. Third Man is calling it their "Ultra LP." Here's what it's got -- - 180 gram vinyl - 2 vinyl-only hidden tracks hidden beneath the center labels - 1 hidden track plays at 78 RPM, one plays at 45 RPM, making this a 3-speed record - Side A plays from the outside in - Dual-groove technology: plays an electric or acoustic intro for “Just One Drink” depending on where needle is dropped. The grooves meet for the body of the song. - Matte finish on Side B, giving the appearance of an un-played 78 RPM record - Both sides end with locked grooves - Vinyl pressed in seldom-used flat-edged format - Dead wax area on Side A contains a hand-etched hologram by Tristan Duke of Infinity Light Science, the first of its kind on a vinyl record - Absolutely zero compression used during recording, mixing and mastering - Different running order from the CD/digital version - LP utilizes some mixes different from those used on CD and digital version Pretty crazy. I hope the features don't outshine the music. "High Ball Stepper" rips. Anyway, you can pre-order it here: http://thirdmanstore.com/jack-white-lazaretto-12-vinyl And watch a video of Jack and Ben explaining the "Ultra LP" here:
  9. bought! with my surplus paypal balance this didn't hurt too bad. think it'll be worth it.
  10. Picked this up on RSD. Really like the track. Soo catchy. Not too sure about the new one he put out but hopefully it'll grow on me.
  11. i'd bet on her sticking with the live band for a while still for tours. i'm pretty sure most of her players were the ones doing the instrumentation on the album. definitely check her out next time she rolls through. she's really progressed as far as her stage presence goes and they put on an amazing show.
