  1. I "rented" a few 360 games from the Blockbuster near me when I knew they were nearing their death rattle. The phone call from whoever buys the company in a few years should be fun.
  2. We can leave it at that, but I have no interest in talking about the combine
  3. Lewis and Clark community college in Godfrey, IL (its about 15 minutes from St Louis). If I was left handed or could throw 7-8 MPH faster I might have had a chance.
  4. Masked Intruder last week. Humanoids, Direct Hit, and Lipstick Homicide tonight
  5. YES! YES! YES! People much smarter than us don't have all the answers to these questions and I'm sure no one here is completely right or wrong. Good talk I like baseball but I don't care about it as much as hockey or football. I think I got burned out playing the game a hundred times a year from age 5-22
  6. 1. This analogy needs to be taken out back like a 30 year old RB and put down. I started it, I apologize. 2. I don't think there was any misunderstanding here. Everyone knew he was hurt but thought he was needed to give them a chance to win. He knew he was hurt but continued to play. If you care about your public perception more than your long term health and your are a grown man I again do not feel sympathy for you. 3. Making the game safer is a great thing. Saying you had no idea the game was dangerous does not fly with me. 4. What players have retired directly because of his death? People blame fame and wealth on people killing themselves too. I would still like to be rich and famous and I bet a lot of people here feel the same. Players saying they would have quit after the fact does not mean much to me, saying it and doing it are very different.
  7. 8th might as well be 9th with the way the Hawks are rolling. Is the sound messed up for everyone else on this game?
  8. Yesterday I "tried" to watch 4 movies on Netflx (Iron Sky, Dodecacathlon, Jeff Who Lives at Home, and something else that I only let go for about 15 minutes before turning off) before I settled on watching Terror Vision because its awful in the good way.
  9. Kings need to go on a run here over the next 15 games and get in solid playoff position.
  10. Not trolling so I guess I'm just really dumb. I'm sorry for what the NFL did to your brain
  11. 1. In this instance the stop sign is already on the road (its the no hitting to the helmet rule). Not everyone plays by the rules, that is not the fault of the rule maker. 2. Many times players lie to the medical staff to get back on the field. I'm not that familiar with the RGIII situation so I don't know what advice the staff gave him that you are saying put him in danger. 3. The players have every right to ask for more safety or rule changes, but if they choose to play the game with the current rules and regulations then they accept the risks associated. 4. I think what Seau did will change the career choice of very few if any people. People still want to be rich, play music, write novels, act in the movies even though some of the most famous people to do those things have killed themselves. I don't want anyone to get hurt and if the game can be made safer while still being profitable the NFL should go for it. At some point they might change the game enough that I don't want to support it but its not my wallet or life on the line.
  12. I don't have a link to an article that talks about the issue in depth. I have read some articles about soft helmets or additional padding to be added to the exterior and the friction argument almost always comes up in the comments if not in the article. It does seem odd to me that if it were such a simple answer someone would have brought it into mainstream use by now in football, hockey, baseball, skiiing, cycling, lacrosse, skateboarding, etc.
  13. The argument against the soft outer shells is that you get more friction and then players end up getting more chance of neck/spine injury.
  14. I know the salary levels in the NFL. See where I said MIGHT. Yes it may not work out for you, just like any other profession and there are risks involved like many other professions. I am not bashing them for caring about their safety, I am bashing them for saying "oh I didnt know that I might get hurt playing this game so now I need you to take care of me". Not sure what you are saying in your last statement. I drive everyday, if someone wrecks into me I don't blame the state of Illinois for making the road.
  15. Holding is also not allowed in the NFL, I am pretty sure I have seen it happen though. There are many times when helmets collide without it being a penalty. The impact of helmet to knee or turf can be just as bad as well. Something bad might happen to you, you might also only need to work for about 5 years of your life to live more than comfortably. I think this is a trade off that most of us would take. I know I would without question,
  16. If you can't figure out that slamming your head into someone elses over and over again might not be great for you long term I don't have much sympathy for you. Protect yourself, don't rely on someone else to do it.
  17. The players know the risks going in. They are rewarded well for the work that they do and I think its more than a bit ridiculous that they complain after the big checks stop rolling in.
  18. Patrick Kane is a 24 year old multi millionaire living in one of the most exciting cities in the world. I am amazed at anyone that can do that and not come off like an asshole some of the time.

  21. They are really steady, I don't love either of them but they almost never get away from talking about hockey and they are pro Kings without making them seem infallible.
  22. Everyone should just be glad they don't live in or near St Louis. The tv team that the Blues have should be doing girls highschool basketball games.
