I know that's right. Me, and the millions of others who have purchased vinyl records without ever washing them. We will never learn.

All new records should be cleaned. The pressing plates are coated with fungicide. Not the best thing for your stylus.

 

This is completely silly to me.

What is making everyone's records so dirty?

Not worth it. Just press black records.

My Steel Panther - All You Can Eat had sand in it. I thought it was some free coke at first.

When reissues cost more than original copies, sharks have been jumped.

I believe all 3 tapes come with downloads. The Chronics is great.

The good folks at Mooster are offering a bundle for $20 that includes a ton of stuff. If you aren't into tapes, it's still a great deal even if you throw those in the damn trash.

All I see are tons and tons of shipping charges. 

 

For those that are ordering 20+ records per week, is this because there are no good record stores near you or is this in addition to shopping locally?

 

Also, I disapprove of you spending even $1 on anything other than food and shelter and I stand in judgement of you.

I was forced to order something from Hastings. They are the exclusive seller of the Toadies Texas shaped 12". I put in the address correctly and my order confirmation had the correct address, but they shipped it with an extra digit in the zip code. The post office can't figure things out on their own so it got rerouted all over the world and eventually back to Hastings. It sat in the Hastings return warehouse for 2 days with no response from them. I had sent an email when I noticed the zip code error and they didn't respond and now it's sitting in their warehouse and they don't respond. Their only response came a few weeks ago when they told me to wait until September 11th for it to be delivered. The order was from August 6th. So I opened a paypal dispute and they refunded me without comment. They seem happy to have a problem customer out of their hair. I am happy to be out of their 80's mall hair.

 

During this same time my brother ordered a CD from Amazon that got lost in the mail and first they refunded his shipping and then when it hadn't arrived a week later they refunded it all AND sent a new one. That seems like a lot and you can't make a living doing that, but it shows they want the customer to come back. It also made Hastings look even worse to me.

 

Hastings is happy for me to take my business to Sam Goody by way of the Orange Julius.

I ordered this close to when it came out. It's been a while. I got it in about a week as I recall. Well boxed and included some free pins etc.

 

Maybe he's been busy or distracted or something? Not making excuses, but I do know at one point he was shipping these quickly.

Someone else that knows about My Dick? You sir are a cool guy in my book.

Oh man, the track I am most excited for is Watto's Deal and Kids at Play or maybe Passage Through the Planet Core. That's going to sound so sweet on vinyl. I really want to hear all the great music without the hassle of seeing the images on my TV so this record is perfect!

 

If someone actually listens to this record more than 20 times in their lifetime they deserve an award.

Nice!  $40 is a bit much for an album that I haven't heard yet, but if it gets released at a normal price I'll probably bite.

By dumb luck I overhead about 10 minutes of this as it was being cut at the pressing plant. I was really impressed by it. I didn't know this band before then, but I went home and looked them up right away. Will be buying this for sure.
