I keep getting shafted on his preorders. Seems like everyone gets theirs before mine even leaves the warehouse.
Looks nice though (not my picture): https://38.media.tumblr.com/df270ff109a2ab7987635d385c8191e9/tumblr_ndyh6vxSdB1qfjmumo1_500.jpg

Has everyone gotten a shipping confirmation? Mine still says unfulfilled

One of my friends got a shipping confirmation on vinyl (mine still says unfulfilled) but it looks like vinyl is starting to make its way out.

Really hope I can get my preorder $ back from his website. I paid $25 more for the vinyl and a t-shirt that I didn't want. I love Andrew's music, but I've spent so much money on his stuff that I really just wanted a record for this one. I'm going to see him in October (after going to two shows in June) and I'm sure I'll be buying plenty of merch there, too. Though the Amazon link doesn't have any info on if a digital download will be available on the release date, and Andrew doesn't know either. May just have to stick with the original preorder.
It says all preorders sales are final so I wouldn't count on it. The blue variant is worth the price to me (though I agree that t-shirt is just bad)

From Andrew: "I believe amazon will sell a stand alone black variant. If we have leftovers from the presale they'll sell on tour."
-
I can't remember if it was here or on Absolute Punk where someone said they asked him about EIT, and he's currently fighting with WB about pressing it the way he wants to (with b-sides and stuff) vs what they want - probably another cheap ass pressing.
For a while there just hasn't been demand... from what I remember TGP didn't sell out that quickly, it just sort of did eventually, and then it was hard to find in any stores so demand eventually outweighed supply as more people started collecting since 2008. P&T was only available via preorder I think, and that one doesn't go for insane amounts like EIT does and TGP can, but still is decently jacked up because it was only on the pre-order and nowhere else (probably because by this point he and WB knew they were cutting ties). Now that he's away from WB he can't really do much about it.

I was at some of the last Matt/Gavin tour dates and he still had TPU vinyl on sale....
The album is being far more heavily promoted/pushed with a stronger single so I would not count on those ice blue variants lasting for as long as TPU has. However, since he said ice blue is only being sold 'through him', that makes me believe there will be a black retail variant, or else he'd say it's the only place to get it on vinyl at all. With the way his records skyrocket in value once sold out, I don't think he'll keep this limited knowing how people bitch at him for the rare Jack's catalogue.
Even if he does have leftover and puts them out on tour, they're going to be gone by the time the tour is halfway over.

"Physical Preorders go live at 10am EST tomorrow (Tuesday), in the andrewmcmahon.com store. All preorders come with a T-shirt, an autographed sticker of the album cover, downloads of High Dive and Cecilia and the Satellite at time of purchase and a free download of the album on the day of release. The CD package goes for $28.97, the Vinyl package is $38.97 and the uber package, with the compass, sweatshirt, patch and autograph poster goes for $98.97. The "Translucent Ice Blue" vinyl is limited to 2k copies pressed and only sold through me. Thank you all for your support"

Sold my copy of the 5-year press with hopes that the 10-year would be on the way. Really hope it's not a RSD thing, but it would be something to get me out there hours ahead of time just to make sure I get it.
I'm debating doing the same thing since for me it's less about having a special pressing and more about just having the record on wax so if I can exchange my 5 year for a better-sounding 10 year that has extras I'd be all for it. They can easily push well over 1000 units of this album so hopefully they don't go that route again. So many people love it and want to own it that it would really suck for a bunch of people to miss out.

Pumped for this. The new songs he played on this last tour were awesome.
Slightly off topic, but I'll post it anyway. I spoke with Andrew a few weeks ago after a show when he was doing autographs, and asked if he's planning on a repress of Everything in Transit. He said he's working on it for next year. Warner Bros. wants to do it for Record Store Day, and he wants to do it himself (in his words, "a real bitchin' version with some b-sides") for the 10th anniversary. He said something to the effect of "it'll be out within the next year, whether or not I'll be smiling about it is up in the air at this point". Really good dude, if you go to a show, I highly recommend hanging out by his bus afterwards and getting a picture or something, he's great to talk to.
Hopefully he's able to do it himself, as if it comes out for RSD, a lot of his fans still won't be able to get it.
Not a surprise WB will suck out every last penny he's worth. That blows if it comes out on RSD as ANOTHER super limited release. The 5 year repress is already nothing to call home about packaging & extras-wise, would be a real bummer for the 10 year to not be everything he wants for it.

Obsessed with that cover art

Hm. I can't decide whether to get this or not. I need to relisten to the songs.
Rollercoaster was just put on spotify and youtube and it's a jam, so now there's three songs circulating and a bunch of live videos. If you like the ones that are out I think it's safe to say you'll like the album. Kinda got that Steel Train + 80s pop thing going on.
-
My most anticipated. Loved Steel Train so much. Jack has a lot of talent. Am I understanding correctly that there is both an orange and a transparent orange variant in his webstore?
Yeah, looks like there's two different oranges
-
Thanks... Not seeing where the BB one is clear orange, but I pre-ordered the transparent orange one from their webstore anyway... If anyone does the Amazon pre-order and gets an extra song DL, I'd appreciate it. Excited to see them next week.
Yeah I haven't received Rollercoaster either, not sure when that's supposed to be sent

Bleachers just put up a bunch of bundles on their webstore: http://www.myplaydirect.com/bleachers
-
You can also pre order at best buy / clear orange variant / $17.99 i believe
Woah thanks for the heads up. I think I'm gonna go for this one instead. Here's the link if anyone's interested.

You can pre-order Bleachers' Strange Desire on Amazon here. Released July 15, 2014. Apparently when you pre-order you get an mp3 of "Rollercoaster".

Did anyone come across the Sam Means 7"?
There were lots of these when I grabbed one today around 3pm. I can go back and see if there's more on Monday if nobody else gets back to you.

Totally forgot about the Vitamin String Quartet Pinkerton tribute LP. Anyone see this out in the wild today?
I did, my store had quite a few copies of it.
-
Still no word if anyone would be willing to pick up an extra of the Paramore release for me - the stores in my area are being super secretive and honestly doubt they will have any copies. I will be on the lookout for other requests and hopefully I can help someone out!
The Paramore release is going to be available online at 10 am est on RSD on FBR's webstore if you're able to try for that.

If you're from Arizona you should check out "Halls" on this album. Bet you'd dig it just because of it being set in Tucson & Tempe.
