  1. If anyone likes Dot Hacker, They announced that they will be releasing a 7" on Record Store Day but they didn't provide any titles just yet
  2. I believe the way they are approaching this attempt at a "comeback" release is all wrong. I've only really looked at the vinyl options and a few others but it seems like they're overpriced and are heavily relying on the fans to fund the entire project. I'd love to hear new Fall of Troy but this is making it very difficult. I wonder if they're even putting in any effort into funding it as well. I've only ever funded two other album releases (so far). I know its a different genre of music but I contributed to Bowling for Soup's new album. Their vinyl package (if i remember correctly) was $25 for the Vinyl and $40 got you the new album Lunch. Drunk. Love. and the 2011 album Fishing for Woos both signed by the entire band. I think they even included a handwritten thank you letter or that might have been another band. The Fall of Troy needs to give more details on what will be offered at these prices. Concerning their vinyl release I say give away some extras! Are the vinyl jackets going to be signed? Why is there need for so many variant options? At least provide pictures of what we can expect. Personally I don't see why there should be many different priced variants for one album upon initial release (thats the cash grab) and no reason whatsoever to overprice it but thats just me. They are grown men and are capable of working to partially fund the project themselves if they really want to.
  3. Can they at least provide pictures of the different variants being pressed? $150? That better be the nicest looking, 180 Gram Autographed Vinyl with alternate album cover variant any of us have ever seen!
  4. I don't want to miss this release but I think I want to wait for the SRC variant, especially if its anything like the mock up. I'm not too excited about that gold vinyl and would enjoy a color variant that would match the album cover. So just to be sure, we have until March 31 to decide if we want the Gold Package right?
  5. Man that helped quite a bit, I set mine to +8dB and its getting to where I want to have it without it starting to distort the audio. I'm gonna have to test it out on some other albums so I can set it just right but I did not know about this feature thanks!
  6. I'm using a Shure M97xe and the Preamp is on the MC setting already. The MM was even lower when I first tried it and I've stuck with MC ever since.
  7. Hello! I had a few questions about what could be happening with my setup. I have a Technics SL 1200 M3D running into a Cambridge Audio - Azur 651P - MM/MC Phono Preamplifier that goes into an Onkyo TX-NR616 7.2 Channel THX Select2 Plus Certified Network A/V Receiver. My speakers are some Sony speakers that my cousin let me have. With my receiver I can attach a bluetooth dongle that lets me stream audio to it from my phone over bluetooth. While using this I noticed that the volume of that audio would be much louder than when I would play the same songs from my records. So I'm wondering what could be the problem that I have? A friend of mine told me my pre amp should have some controls but there are none that I know of the one I have. I currently have to crank my receivers volume to the high 50's - 60's in order to enjoy it at the same level as streaming from my phone through bluetooth where I have the volume in the 30's/40's Pre Amplifier - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0079OA0UU/ref=oh_details_o07_s01_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Receiver - http://www.amazon.com/Onkyo-TX-NR616-Channel-Certified-Receiver/dp/B0077V88W2/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1390069803&sr=1-1&keywords=Onkyo+TX-NR616+7.2+Channel+THX+Select2+Plus+Certified+Network+A%2FV+Receiver
  8. Hey anyone in NJ, I went to Willowbrook Mall to see if I could get a new copy and exchange my stabbed one at a later date. There were two copies left when I arrived and I took one so if anyone is in the area there is one left. Good Luck!
  9. Ouch =/ I wonder if they could replace it though although its probably unlikely since they might be sold out. They did that for me when my Blink TOYPAJ with three 7"s came slashed on the spine. I might just try to go to a Hot Topic one of these days and see if they can swap it or something.
  10. Has there been any update on what can be done for those who got their records cut/ stabbed?
  11. Now that I'm seeing more pictures of these I noticed this on one of the three I purchased with friends. They came packaged very well in thick bubble wrap and one of them had a stabbed mark like the ones in these pictures. Weird thing is that its not on the box or bubble wrap that it was shipped in, just that cover so maybe it was done before it was packed and sent? I hope it didnt go through to the record but it looks like it might have. I've only opened one of them since I'm waiting for my friends to pick up their copies. My only problem was the extra static noise presentduring the songs when all of the instruments are absent/ in between songs. Hoping to get answers on what can be done about this if it is damaged because of the punctures. I'm sure whichever friend ends up with that copy wont be too happy
  12. My copy has a lot of those same marks. I noticed that the record sounds crackly when theres not too much going on in the tracks. I thought it was dirty and I cleaned the record and needle and could still hear it. Could it be from those marks?
  13. I was at Willowbrook Mall in New Jersey today and left one copy of Self Titled, I scooped up 2 of them for my friends who missed out on the online sale. There were also quite a few (maybe 5?) of The Sufferer & the Witness and 1 or 2 of Siren Song of the Counter Culture by Rise Against in case anyone is browsing these threads and was interested in an update of their stock.
  14. Yea the gold color isn't something I like about this but I don't see another chance of getting this album anytime soon.
  15. I thought this was the link? http://splur.gy/r/8SGxC/r/2DNWLH6zBTL
  16. I missed them when they came to NYC last week. I already had tickets to go see Minus The Bear. It was awful knowing that they both played the same day and aren't records on tour stops more expensive than if you were to buy them online? I know that was the case with MTB. All of their records were $5-$10 cheaper online so I'll save that for later.
  17. yea the records not terrible I just agree with it being overhyped. Maybe that would be because Balance and Composure is a heavy seller on No Sleep and this is The Swellers second release with them? I'm still looking to track down the rest of their releases, do you think No Sleep would ever reissue those?
  18. oh god yes finally someone said it! I dont know what the others in the Balance and Composure thread are/ were talking about, it really didnt do anything for me but it wasn't a terrible album. But all i ever read/see in topics about them is the term "dynamics" being thrown around.
  19. Curious, why would it plummet? Wouldn't some people still want the earlier pressings as collectibles? Especially if some are more limited than this?
  20. If that's what he paid for then yea sure, but I highly doubt it was $50 when the order was placed, so no its not worth that amount.
