Supposedly you stay more awake/alert because there is no beat or repetition. I've heard people recommend listening to talk radio instead of music if you're driving home and start getting too tired. It's kind of weird but I think it makes sense. Just listen to math metal. Most of that shit is pretty funny anyway.

Cursive put out a single for 'Dorothy at 40' with a song called 'The Bitter End,' and it's one of my favorite songs by them ever. Definitely better than all but 2 or 3 on Happy Hollow, and I love that album. I lucked out and got to see them play 'The Bitter End' live.

I saw Lucero open for Murder by Death in Bloomington, Indiana a while back and they were fucking stellar. Longest I've ever seen a non-headlining band play, and I wish they would have played longer. They closed with 'The War.' Perfect.

I was at a Bomb the Music Industry! show in Brooklyn and they were playing with the Matt Kurz One. If you're not familiar with him, it's one guy that plays guitar (like you would normally play a guitar), bass (with his left foot), bass drum (with his right foot), and hi-hat (with a drumstick that is taped on to the headstock of his guitar). Anyway, at the end of one of his songs his hi-hat fell over and without missing a beat a guy in the audience goes "God, this is worse than when I saw the Oneders in Pittsburgh." Honestly the funniest thing I've ever heard. What's yours?
