Slapping a new genre on a band based off their live tendencies - which, by the way, the vast majority of their fans won't get to experience - is absolutely ridiculous.  I will gladly accept that Toe perform like "an emo band" or whatever, but please don't pretend that it changes their musical genre.  Unless they belt out lyrics exclusively at live shows, I don't understand how this is even a topic of debate at this point.

Careful there, Glass Realms – you'll run out of downvotes for today if you keep up that spree.  I'd feel guilty soaking all of them up from you.
 
 
Fortunately, I don't think anyone was disputing that the band releases good music.  So at least we've got that going in the thread.  We're just getting into the semantics on whether or not they release quality emo, I guess.

What if the new record is secretly, conceptually just balls? Like, the band is writing a concept album where they exist in an alternate universe where they've lost all ability to write engaging lyrics or instrumental passages. The graphic novel could just be Claudio and gang laughing profusely for 80 panels, with a final shot of them carrying money bags into a bank.

both are really good, Reclamation was one of the top heavy albums of 2014, IMHO, so definitely worth checking out if you like heavy stuff.  Besides, they have a track titled 'Spawn of Sagan'

Of course!  I rationed it out and finished it Sunday night.

Other than Game of Thrones, The Knick has got to be one of the best live-action TV programs of all time.



The soundtrack is dope too.

They're in the mirthmobile, on their way back from a show at The Gasworks.

I liked 'Misadventures' more than all their old stuff, and so far I think the new stuff is just as good, or even better than 'Misadventures.'  Progression is nice.   

I actually liked the first track released a little more than this second one upon first listen.

I didn't like the 2 tracks they released in between records, though. (Choosing Cages and Framed.)
