  1. I think I'm lucky in that all of the music I listen to comes from North American distributors, so $19+ shipping is par for the course, with $3 extra if you want to add an additional 12" into the mix... This is assuming you don't want your vinyl 2 months later than everyone else. Even still, US pricing is comparatively cheap, $12.99, you serious!? Even great distributors like BSM work out at £11(~18 US) minimum for a new release, add shipping and depending on the record you end up at £15-18 (25-30US). This EP came out at $32, which I'm happy to pay. $3 more than a natively priced bog standard EP/LP, no brainer, eznp.
  2. Yeah but for the box-set specifically, but good to know they are at least sending some things out our way.
  3. No confirmation on the international front, anyone else from EU or otherwise got theirs? It wouldn't surprise me if those that cancelled ended up getting their copies, and some others who paid got stuffed! #jenkins.
  4. Time to watch my email/store-account like a hawk. Though international buyers will probably be an afterthought.
  5. Great EP. I swear money just seems to flow away from me... It will be pay day after all, I guess you'll just have to take my money.
  6. Tubelord hinted at a vinyl release last week, which was scheduled for today through Big Scary Monsters. Whilst I was hoping for an OFAF repress, what they released instead is still a tidy little number. Pop Songs For Rock Kids - http://awesomedistro.com/bsm-store/Tubelord_PopSongsForRockKids_LP.html p.s Romance LP now going for £5.99
  7. Promised myself I wouldn't buy anymore vinyl until after xmas but had to get Juturna, should've bundled it in with my last order and saved myself the lions share of the $22 postage I just paid... hey ho live and learn.
  8. Mustn't forget that key differentiator Fair point. I'll reserve my skepticism until I see the quality of the actual "package", but it isn't hard to write a number on a box, and without unique innards it is still just an expensive box. The thing is, before they announced the same identical colorways, and then this holiday bundle, I was one of the people who staunchly believed the box-set was a great deal, couldn't wait to throw them my money, since I love the band and want everything in the box-set. 3eb slowly put paid to that enthusiasm. I'll definitely stop my grumbling when I get the item, just frustrating me now is all.
  9. I had to pay $60 for international shipping as well, so I'm just too far down the rabbit hole to even bother (got customs tax to expect on-top also). I've written the expense off at this point. The individual LPs being identical to the box-set was bad enough, then when they post stuff like this it's just salt in the wound. Bunch o' money grabbin' ****** . My own fault for loving the albums so much I suppose.
  10. This is fueling my box-set buyer's remorse. At this price that puts 3eb's valuation of Red Star, Ursa Major and a signed placeholder at $100... *rage*.
  11. @tellallyourfriends Haha you got me. Though I know of many adults who use smileys, I guess I'm still just a 29 year old child @deafening 100% agree. Of course I don't really 'care', I wasn't fussed about the down-vote, it just hinted to there being something up with my post. So thought I'd ask about the unwritten rules in this case, I'd rather get along with people is all. I appreciate a novel for a rep point was a bit annoying, It was mainly to preempt me getting lambasted in future by some more established members - who I've seen tear into anyone that posts anything that can vaguely be construed as flipping related. We can put a nail in this, all answers appreciated.

  13. Oh I 100% agree with everyone on the cash/ebay/buy-to-profit argument, that is underhanded. In-fact I've never sold a single vinyl, let alone flipped any, I want each and every item in my collection at the end of the day. I just have a very small wish-list which takes priority over anything I own, just like a set-collector would sell their first-born for that final rare piece. I agree with what you said Thrice re: the fair trade. If the vinyl I'm after comes up, I'd gladly trade a less or more sought after item for it, doesn't matter which, ultimately we'd both be after a deal and presumably the other party wouldn't agree to trade if they didn't think they were getting a good deal either. Cheers for the replies all, good to know!
  14. Yeah I'll definitely do as I do since they are mine, and I'm collecting records I love and would only trade for ones I loved more. It'd just be interesting to see what general consensus is on the boards, I'd rather not antagonise people, or get voted down when trying to hawk a trade just because people have particular views about ye olde wax.
  15. Hi guys, I'm new here, though have been viewing the boards for a while. And just wanted to get a feel for the attitudes on the board to something. I posted on the Circa thread something which could be construed as buying an album for 'trade bait'. No-one called me on it save for a -1 reputation on the post, though another guy got hammered for mentioning he had bought 2 copies of something to resell, which he got a rinsing for. To clarify, my post mentioned that I had but 1 copy of OLG and 1 copy of BSN by Circa, not multiple copies or anything. I like many Circa fans have been wanting these for years, though I have never wanted to pay the crazy flippers prices. Seeing these up for $25 and $35 bucks a piece, plus $27 delivery to UK, is still a bargain to me. On the post however, I mentioned that I would gladly trade any of them for the 1 particular item I have in my want-list. I think this is what must have riled one user (perhaps more). I think the contention might come because I said 'I'll keep em mint', that directly implies I bought these to trade/flip, which I can understand would upset the board. I'd never flip these for cash, because I want them in my collection, and I will eventually get around to playing these records, it's just I reaaaally want the other LP way more, so I would trade whatever it takes if opportunity arose. The wanted LP isn't particularly expensive, rarity its of 500, and I've seen people sell it for $10-20 in the past year, the problem is it doesn't come up often or I've missed it, hence my standing trade offer on anything in my collection. I guess because of the timing of my post, with some people having missed out on the Circa stuff, I might've annoyed some members, which wasn't my intention. So what are your thoughts on this kind of thing? Hate it, mildly disapprove, indifferent? Am I forever tainted with the stink of a trade baiter? Have you done something similar? Is there a record that you'd trade everything but your shirt for? I want to contribute to the boards more over time, so it would good to get a set of honest opinions, but no hate please, we're all adults.
  16. I managed to pick up BSN and OLG. I love Circa but don't really want to get into the habit of collecting the set (for fear of incurring the wrath of my bank manager). I'll be keeping these sealed when I get them, so I'll set up a standing trade offer if anyone has/can acquire Tubelord - "Our First American Friends LP".
  17. For the $260 I've paid including postal charges they better be gatefolds, with all the off-cut cardboard thrown in to boot, soaked in the tears of Stephan Jenkins.
  18. Woke up 6am in the UK, luckily earlier than normal, and seen the email marked 4am. Seen the price tag then started swearing but I proceeded to purchase it anyway, stung with the $60 international shipping charge but meh. I've been holding out on collecting the original releases primarily due to price, and secondly in the hope they'd finally release this. I agree with most of the comments in that this is a solid deal (as a fan) assuming you don't already have a lot of their albums on vinyl. Financially it is a bit of an outlay, but that's vinyl collection for ya.
  19. Hi all, I know I'm clutching at straws trying to find a copy, but if anyone has Tubelord's "Our First American Friends" LP and are willing to part with it then please get in touch. I recently missed out on the handful that Big Scary Monsters put up for sale, and it has been tiring checking eBay twice a day every day for the better part of a year (I'm sure others have been searching longer). Cheers.
