  1. Damn. Can't believe it. They sold out of the orange Bongripper already through Burning World and it's intruiguing that ClearSpot is selling the same record that BWR is for an extra 14€. I guess Roadburn gets a better deal because they're tight with the band like that?

Also just realized I actually already have Hate Ashbury on vinyl but it's the shortened version with different artwork. Pretty awesome that this will be the full expaned version.
I reckon they might be able to fund future  re-releases with this and Great Barrier Reefer and Heroin can't be too far off either?

Yeah, that is strange. The last batch of represses were these same titles(SWD and Hate). I think these go on sale in about 9 minutes.

    Up now

Burning World soon(ish) for those in the EU.

Also, about these being reissued again — the current Discogs prices for both of those are reason enough for another round. Kudos to them for keeping fans happy.

  3. Not super into their latest record yet, as they're rehashing quite a bit from their previous LP. In The Wind is one of my favourites though. Love the vocals because he makes it sound so dire. Definitely get what you mean though, they're certainly deemed to be not everyone's cuppa.

Ritual Productions is holding a sale. Shipping might be expensive for all you stateside but this is probably the cheapest you will get their stuff. Lots of good stuff to find from 11Paranoias, Bong, Ghold to Ramesses. Git on it.

15€ to ship from a EU specific site....what is this...?

*Edit. Ha! It gets even funnier. They're from Finland which basically means I could go there myself fo less than what they're asking for shipping and pick it up myself. Must be a site issue, that can't be a real estimate, as shipping from Italy isn't even that expensive.

**Edit Edit Okay there's a group on FB now that's actually going for a fan pressing of this one.

LARS FINBERG - MOONLIGHT OVER BAKERSFIELD
For too many years to count Lars Finberg has been a fixture in the underground music scene. From drum basher in the A-Frames and Thee Oh Sees to secret weapon in Wounded Lion to the driving force behind The Intelligence and Puberty - his whirlwind presence has been a reliable one; that of an artist that people look for and look toward. With that it is with great pride and excitement that In The Red announces Lars’ debut solo offering, Moonlight Over Bakersfield. Followers of Finberg’s recording history will immediately detect a plume of confidence around Moonlight Over Bakersfield, an air that each successive offering has inched toward but now, at long last, has taken full bloom. For the uninitiated this is an excellent place to start. The favors called in for this occasion serve only as to bolster the offering as a whole.  Frequent collaborators now stew with notable heavies from LA LUZ and MELVINS / BIG BUSINESS, creating Finberg’s Whole New Sound.  The great MIKAL CRONIN even guests on sax, offering sophisticated bleat as needed.  It’s TY SEGALL that serves as Finberg’s main ally here though, both at the controls and in performance. The results are utterly fantastic and you NEED this in your life. Limited edition on beautiful orange vinyl.

Out through In The Red,  pre-orders begin at noon PST

  6. Cheers for the encouragement. I never expected a replacement for the Orcs, was just bummed to see the variants not hold up to criticism.

Luckily someone was already interested in one copy so I won't be left hanging onto them for too long. I myself just need one listenable copy and I'm good but would just be glad to sell people records without any faults you know? But I guess as long as inform them beforehand, all is good.

I don't think it's unreasonable to ask for a replacement if there's a distinct and loud pop, a click could be debatable. Basically, if it sounds like it could be doing damage to your stylus, it's time to contact the label. I never hesitated back when records were $5.99, I don't see any reason to be okay with that with these crazy prices.

Yeah, that makes sense. It's just a bummer to keep asking for replacements when you know you're running the risk higher than with black anyway when buying coloured wax.

In Relapse related news - HoF's Blessed Black Wings was pressed on some new delicious-looking  wax

  8. Fuck.

What is your guys' experience with replacing vinyl through Castle Face?Quality control on these things is really below par. Got all three variants to offset the high shipping cost and sell the remaining copies for price but sarted checking for imperfections and seems no copy is without fault.

The haze probably scratched by merely taking it out of the sleeve (due to all that factory residue), the orc-skeined one had a dent and a scratch (none of which fortunately affect play). Yet to check the Gildan but fear that is deemed to be the worst going off all the feedback I've seen so far. To top that off, my order was missing the Gizzard record I ordered. This hype machine really doesn't run well oiled.

Very bummed and increasingly veering towards not buying coloured vinyl anymore, the pay-off of owning a piece of visual art along with the music just isn't worth all the hassle when you either have the choice of accepting a marred audible experience or sending that shit back.

  9. Come on guys. That Sleep album is deemed to be amazing. The groove on The Clarity was well worth the wait. Imagine a whole record with that approach. Definitely understand the whole 'don't ruin the legacy' approach. Kind of iffy to hear what they finally put together. I'm almost more intrigued by a new Om record though, with Emil Amos and R.R. Lowe included you really can't go wrong.

Don't quite understand what could be held against Atriarch. 've yet to get too into the new record, but I guess one could say that it's a little on the dramatic side. Sill totally listenable.

Doing proper platter prepares for this weekend's show. Going to be Ufomammut supported by Usnea. And Church of Misery in there somewhere with Saint Vitus.
Also, that new Radio Moscow be ripping.

*A moral question - how do you guys usually deal with records that have small pop-inducing factory errors to them? I just feel it's sometimes dumb to ask for a replacement in some cases because going for a coloured LP you kind of know there's a bigger chance of it turning out faulty. Then again, I'm already paying quite the hefty sum just to ship it over here and it's really a bummer to have to listen to the pop each time. I'm asking because the copy of the Usnea LP features one near the runout on side D and it just feels kind of silly to replace it because the rest of the record is flawless, but for the 7 seconds or so there.

  10. This place is kind of dying. Getting slower and slower.
Ufomammut's new track will speed it up.

Also, Usnea's album is released and streaming

And last but not least, Electric Wizard has titled their newest 'Wizard Bloody Wizard' and has pre-orders going for that, for those that didn't veer into the official thread.
