  1. http://www.capturedtracks.com/shop/_ct-release/ct-218-the-soft-moon-deeper-special-edition-lp-bonus-7/

The Soft Moon presents Deeper, their third and most ambitious album to date. This Special Edition version includes a one-sided 7″ with the song, “Never,” unavailable digitally or physically anywhere else.

    • This item is a Pre-Order. The Release Date is March 31st, 2015

His other two releases have limited reissues now available on the Captured Tracks store.

  2. The first two songs are fucking terrible, I almost stopped listening at that point I was so dissapointed.  Glad I listened to the whole album though, still pretty good.  I'll have to say though I've been liking their releases less and less each time since Red of Tooth.  I'm just so accustomed to their old western/ johnny cash sounding songs it's harder to get into this new stuff. It's still MBD, just doesn't seem to have that certain charm they once had.

  3. Anyone else see the Tamaryn news??

"I've made a new album with a new sound and new people. Rex will no longer be apart of the live show and therefore I will no longer play the songs we wrote together. His guitar sound was the epicenter of our band until now. Rex is inimitable and therefore irreplaceable. NEW ERA. See you there."

Sucks, but I totally understand. The two LP's are great but sound very similar, so I think they needed to make some drastic moves to make this third one more exciting. I'll be going to their last show with Rex here in LA, sad face. The question is.... Will Tamaryn still be a Shoegaze/Dream-pop band without Rex?

  4. Anyone else have an issue with the blue vinyl? The last couple songs on both sides has some nasty shit going on in the background on mine.

So I exchanged mine for another copy and it has the same exact problem!  I got it from urban outfitters, maybe they got a bad batch?  This problem ruins the piano theme.  Any attempt to get this resolved with SRC would be futile. I'm just curious if anyone else is experiencing this.

  5. I have a few local spots that are great.

Origami Vinyl, Echo Park - Los Angeles - Indie store. Not a very big store, but for my tastes it has a lot of what I want.  They have great bands play there in the loft and have a vinyl club every tuesday at the bar across the street. Just a great vinyl community.

Mono Records, Echo Park - Los Angeles - Punk/Hardcore record store with a good selection of used classic rock and jazz albums.

Permanent Records - Highland Park - Los Angeles - Garage Rock/lofi/Punk store. Apparently Ty Segall and Marc Maron hang out here.

Vacation Vinyl - Silver Lake - Los Angeles - Metal/Noise store. If you're into some loud crazy shit, this store is for you.

  6. I'm cautiously optimistic about this.  I thought the last album was a little forgettable, but I love the first two.  I feel like I saw a song was posted, I'll have to track it down.

Yeah I feel the same.  I just listened to the new single "straight" from the album and.... well.... meh. Kinda want to hear more songs before ordering, that bundle does look good though. I just bought tickets to see them in March next year, so that's cool at least.

  7. This is exactly how I feel about it. I don't really want to listen to it until my copy arrives and I can fully appreciate the album as a whole.

Personally, I don't have any problems with any of the Circa albums. They all have their own special elements that make them good, but nothing will ever hold a place in my heart quite like Juturna and On Letting Go. Those are the ones I am most emotionally attached to.

This.  I listened to the one single and got hyped, but waiting on my "bumblebee" as well to sit down and soak it all in.

I as well love all the albums. I followed Anthony from Saosin to Circa and remember seeing them in like 2004 or 2005 in Orlando at The Social, which holds like 200 people.  I remembered they opened up with "In Fear and Faith" and shit sent chills down my spine it was so good.  People like to talk shit about Violent Waves, but I love that album.  "The Lottery" I think is one of their best songs from VW and from what I can tell it seems like the new album has more of that vibe going on.

  8. I've gotten at least 5 newsletters since my order was placed, do they send out a shipment notification?

I got an email the next day saying my record was backordered (when I ordered it, it was in stock) and I had to wait for the next shipment at the end of december.  So, I told them to cancel.  Well, today my record showed up... no shipping notice or word back from customer service.

I've ordered from Insound 3-4 times with no huge complaints. They normally resolve whatever issue I'm having fairly quickly.

  9. Kinda pricey, but I've been waiting for this to be repressed. Such a good album.

"Colour Trip" is the debut album by Texan troublemakers Ringo Deathstarr. It's chock-a-block full of fuzzy goodness - we can't recommend this enough! Lossless digital download free with the vinyl version.
