What happened last time you ordered from Sonic Cathedral?
It took 3 months to get a Dead Mellotron album that was in stock.
@ the dudes who already received the record ... HOW AWESOME ARE THE SONGS?
All the songs are really good IMO, solid compilation.

Still waiting for mine. Excited to hear the Morgan Delt track. He just announced a show at the Echoplex the other day, even more excited for that.
Update: Nevermind, the mail man just walked in with it. Really cool packaging, but did anyone else's smell like wet paint?

I'm in LA same as spoon and I haven't got it yet either. Last time I ordered from Sonic Cathedral it was a nightmare, I was hoping for better luck this time. Not freaking out quite yet, I'll give it another week.

I've never been disappointed with anything they've done, BSN and VW included. Which for me is a big deal, I normally get burned out on bands by the time they've reached this many albums. Stoked on this.

Hell yes! Tyler Stout is my favorite artist over at mondo, not to mention this soundtrack is great. I have the pink Drive soundtrack and all the artwork is beautiful. I grabbed 2 for me and a friend.

If you don't care about it being an ETR variant I know MOV pressed it and it was readily available I have the gold swirl from ETR though and it's gorgeous here's a link to the MOV
The only time I really care about variants is when I can get them at cost. I'm not really cool with paying 2x the price of something because it's a different color. With that said, thanks for the link man. I'll probably grab it tomorrow.

Damnit... I was kinda hoping there would be no cool pre-order for this because I wanted to grab the new album when I see them next month. If I can I prefer to give my money directly to the artist at the shows, helps me remember the show too.

Awake was probably my favorite DT album, their darkest one IMO. I haven't listened to them since Metropolis Pt 2. I had tickets to go see in like 1999, but instead I got in trouble with the cops a few days before and my parents grounded me.... ha. I'll be grabbing this for sure and trying to find a copy of Images & Words in the meantime. My old guitar teacher would be so proud.

I have both the UO and black retail version and both are pretty scuffed up from the sleeves, but they play fine. For some reason I think the red sounds louder than the black, could just be a placebo affect. Just throwing that out there.

Swung by UO today again on a whim... They had 6 copies show up. Not sure how fast they'll go, but I grabbed mine.
Note to self: UO doesn't believe in release dates like the rest of the world.
Yeah I just called the one by my work (Burbank,CA), they said they had "a bunch". I just bought the black yesterday, but screw it... I'm gonna go grab this too.

I dont think you guys understand what a white whale really is. Just becuase its pricey does not make it a white whale, it just means its beyond your budget.
A white whale should be something that you cannot get your hands on regardless of money. My white whale for years was Big Choice by Face to Face, which was pressed for promotional use only. I had cash in hand and still had to wait several years before I found a copy for sale.
Page 43 and we're still having to explain this. Awesome.

I doubt the earliest presses of this were 180g. People are absolutely stupid concerned with that detail these days like it even matters. Oh well. I'm the asshole who needs to have every record I possibly can on the black variant if it exists so who am I to judge? Either way. I'm pretty certain the blue wasn't that heavy. I own a black original press and its pretty standard weight (which I also prefer over heavy weight). I owned a pink copy for a while and it was pretty thin as well. I really liked the weight of it actually. I also have a translucent dark red 180g press from 2010. It looks really cool and sounds damn good.
I get what you're saying, but it does matter a little bit. Not that it sounds better, but it more durable. Once the record is in my hands and I see it's not warped I could really give a shit if it's 180g or not, but usually knowing it's 180g helps me sleep a little better ordering records knowing there less likely a chance for it to be warped.

Thought I had it for a minute last week. Found it on storming the base in canada... got an email 30 minutes later saying it was out of stock. FML.
UPDATE: I might have just found some copies of this. I made the order, but let me see if I get a confirmation before I get everyone's hopes up.
UPDATE UPDATE: Anddddddd it wasn't in stock. This is the second time I've ordered from a site saying it was in stock only to get an email later saying it wasn't. Awesome.
