  1. What day was that? I pre-ordered mine on March 19th and my delivery estimate starts on April 28th but I am a little nervous they won't be able to fill my order.
  2. So bummed. It was still "Currently Available" but by the time I logged in and added it to my cart it was gone.
  3. Whoops, that's right. My bad. Well I still got it for cheaper, although I'm hoping the US price will come down between now and the release so I don't want to wait so long for it to ship.
  4. Yeah, I'm in the US, but Amazon.co.uk has it for much, much cheaper, 17,99€, which is about half the $50 on the US Amazon site.
  5. I do like 3AM even though it doesn't really sound like Chiodos to me, because it does sound like Cinematic Sunrise and also weirdly reminds me of New Found Glory. Under Your Halo and Duct Tape I just really don't like. Behvis Bullock is alright. And I don't expect anything FOT-like from Erak, I just expected the songs to be a little more riff heavy than they are. I'm also not that crazy about the lyrics. Craig's lyrics used to be so much richer, but on DRUGS and the songs that I've heard off Devil they're just more or less straightforward. Don't mean to be super negative, because I was beyond excited about this album two days ago. I'm still excited for it, just not really digging those songs.
  6. That's what I thought. Then I heard these new songs and....let's just say my excitement has been gone down considerably. 3AM sounds like a straight up pop-punk song. Duct Tape sounds like Craig Owens, a generic hip-hop beat, Imagine Dragons and new Fall Out Boy thrown in a blender. Under Your Halo sounds like a bad Cinematic Sunrise song. I dunno, It's not bad, but it just doesn't sound like Chiodos to me. It's got me wondering just how integral Jason Hale was, because even Illuminaudio sounds more like Chiodos to me than these songs. Ole Fishlips is really good and Expensive Conversations in Cheap Motels sounds good live, but I don't get it. What's the point of having Thomas Erak in the band if you're not going to utilize him to the fullest?
  7. Just ordered them and then sent ETR a message asking them to cancel my order ten minutes later, haha. Think the Hot Topic release will be slightly cheaper? Think theirs will be gatefold as well?
  8. I'm really torn on this one. On the one hand I frankly can't afford and can't justify spending 50 bucks on Good Charlotte records, but on the other hand the 13 year old version of me is screaming in my ear to just do it.
  9. Used? Cause I bought a used copy from ImportCDs after cancelling my B&N order but before ordering the one from Zia and it was all scratched up and skipped like mad on a few songs. Hope you have better luck.
  10. I ordered a copy from there about a month ago. It listed the shipping date as three weeks away and when that day came it got postponed another five days. I called them and they said they didn't have in stock but would by February 6th or something like that. I cancelled and started pursuing other options. You could try the place I got mine. http://www.ziarecords.com/Item/9003651744 Funny story. I found this by googling the barcode, but when you go to the main site and search danny brown or xxx, you can't find that page. But if you search the UPC code 856730003169 then it comes up. It looks shady but I ordered it and got an e-mail from someone in the warehouse asking me if Danny Brown - XXX was the record I was trying to order. That was a couple days ago and today I got an e-mail saying it ready and going out in their next shipment. Says it's still in stock so I'd give it a shot. I might've just gotten extremely lucky though.
  11. So I'm pretty sure I just copped a sealed copy of the RSD white vinyl release, purely by luck. Googled the barcode of the album, found an independent record store that was selling it and I just got a shipping confirmation e-mail that says BROWN,DANNY/XXX/2XLP +7" The 7" only came with the RSD release, correct?
  12. Yeah, I looked at it, but it's out of stock. The one I ordered doesn't ship until mid-Feb so if shows up as in stock any time before then then I will.
  13. Okay, I thought that might be the case. That makes a lot of sense, and looked up the other two albums and confirmed they were pressed at 45 rpm as well. Thank you for that. Yes, this is exactly what's happening. And now that I've heard it, I can't unhear it and it's incredibly irritating. There are two things pushing me more towards the AT-LP120 instead of one of the Orbits or a Pro-Jects. The first is, I don't own a pre-amp. Although I would eventually have to buy one anyway if I stick with vinyl, I'd imagine. But I don't see the point in buying a pre-amp until I also have a better stereo system to play my table through. The second thing is the wait. I could order the 120 and have it within a week probably, whereas I'd be waiting until at least March for the Orbit to ship. Honestly, there are just so many things about this that I still don't understand. Tracking force, anti-skate, brake effect, counterweight, wow and flutter - I keep reading these things and I'm having trouble fully understanding them. I can listen to a song and play it by ear and read and quickly understand liberal arts/philosophy type concepts, but when it comes to technical/mechanical/engineering/audiophile type stuff, knowing how things work, I am a very slow learner. But I recently found a box of my parents old vinyl and my buddy brought over his 5-in-1 Crosley, and even on that thing, listening to Blonde on Blonde, All Things Must Pass, 2112, Round About Midnight, I could tell that vinyl was the best way to listen to music. So I had to get into it.
  14. Well I'd imagine there was only one pressing and that it was relatively small, they were never that big.
  15. The thing is, it's actually Amazon selling it, and they don't usually sell bootlegs do they? I sincerely hope i didn't just spend 35 dollars on a CD. Here's what I bought. http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/product/B004ZEKCU0/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It's not too late for me to cancel, don't know whether I should or not. When you search the EAN on BookButler this is what comes up. http://www.bookbutler.com/music/compare?isbn=5051083058353 Says it's a vinyl. I dunno. And Discogs does list two separate LP entries for the album, but they're not that reliable, and it lists releases in US and UK, not Japan. And the EAN on BookButler for the version with the correct artwork, just for comparison's sake. http://www.bookbutler.com/music/compare?isbn=0656605787510
  16. No, it's set to 33, but it sounds about a half-step higher pitched. It's not like Chipmunks or anything.
  17. So all evidence online suggests this record is fairly rare, with only one available on Amazon for $117 (US), one on Amazon UK for about $82, and I can't find it on any independent retailers. I did, however, find an incredibly cheap copy of it on Amazon JP for about $35 after shipping, but I noticed that it has a different EAN as well as the picture being of the CD artwork and not the artwork that is featured on the original pressing vinyl. So I'm guessing what I bought was an import, which I'm fine with, it saves me money, but I'm relatively new to vinyl collecting, so can anyone who's better at this stuff shed some light?
  18. So, I'm brand new to the world of vinyl and 100% completely ignorant about pretty much every aspect of it. I knew well enough not to buy a Crosley or any of those five-in-one type players with the built in speakers, but that's about as much as I knew. Anyway, I got the AT-LP60 because it seemed like the best option for me as I don't have a lot of dispensable income. Also, full disclosure, I have it set to line, no pre-amp, I'm using RCA cables and playing it directly through Edifier Exclaim e10 speakers, which I know is sacrificing a lot of the experience but it's the best I can do right now. Unfortunately, it's playing all of my records slightly too fast, with some of them sounding as much as an entire half-step higher pitched than they should be, and most of the songs are about 4-5 seconds shorter when I listen to them on the vinyl versus digital versions of the same songs. The belt is resting in the groove of properly in the groove of the drive pulley. All of the records I purchased are pretty new, I think the oldest record I bought was Sufjan Stevens' Illinois, so I thought maybe this is just common among new records. So I put on my dad's copy of Blonde on Blonde, original pressing, and sure enough, Rainy Day Women #12 and 35 clocked in 5 seconds shorter than the digital version I have and was also appropriately noticeably higher pitched. On the other hand, I have three records (Andrew Jackson Jihad - People Who Can Eat People, Radiohead - Hail to the Thief and HAIM - Days Are Gone) that play ridiculously slow. The AJJ record sounds Satanic it's so slow. They're all 12" 33s, but I have to play them at 45 speed for them to sound okay, but then still they're about 4-5 seconds shorter than they should be. What's going on? Is this just a s**t table? If I call AT and make a fuss and exchange it for another one, will I have the same problem? Should I just bite the bullet and buy an AT-LP120 or an Orbit Plus or some other table? Any help or insight anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated, as at this point I'm afraid to even use the table for fear that it will ruin my records. And please, don't be too hard on me for being so ignorant. I'm trying to learn!
