I'll go with lazy. Since I probably only listen to about 10-20% of my albums/mp3s on my ipod its pointless to have all my albums on my ipod. why scroll through artists/albums I wouldn't listen to.

I have a couple playlists that I sync to my iPod. as stated above there are podcasts and bands/albums I know I'd never listen to on my iPod so I just leave it off. I used to do the automatic sync, but searching for albums just got too tedious with every single album in my library. I def prefer the pared down approach.

The city of caterpillar album is still very good.

Do it, I got a great Bosch Compound Miter Saw for a wedding gift. We registered for all the standard stuff, but I made sure to put on a couple thing on our registry that were just for me.
