For those wanting the Dilla album or the ODB picture disc, you can order them here now:
damn, i'm so pissed i missed out on this! i am headed over to my local record shop at around 5:30 am - 6 am EST. I really hope they have Sublime - Jah Won't Pay the Bills. Also, does anyone know if that 7'' invluded with "The Diary" is exclusive to Fat Beats? Because I see that Mass Appeal has it up on their website for pre-order, but there is no mention of a 7''

This new song is amazing! I hope they release another full length sometime this year.

When is hot cash over with?! SOOOOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED THAT PETER PAN CAME UNANNOUNCED! THANKS TRAVIS!!
-
Never got an e-mail saying that my copy was mailed, placed, or whatever, but I just got home from work, and it was on my front door step. About to give it a listen now.
-
Any idea when peter pan will come out, Travis?
Also, does anyone who has visited Disney World know if they actually have the Peter Pan record there?

"Hope" was originally a Descendents song, and Sublime covered it pretty much to a T. Certainly the Meat Puppets took some influence from Descendents, as nearly every band coming from the underground in the 80s did. Sublime, too ("Thanks out to Bad Religion and the Descendents").
Also, I believe the consensus is that the man speaking over "Thanx" is actually Miguel Happoldt, an intern who snuck the band into a studio to record 40oz. Sure does sound a lot like Bradley though.
Yeah, it is Miguel Happoldt, I remember them saying it in one of the Everything Under The Sun DVD's. I was shocked when I first learned this, I really thought it was Bradley.
Also, I got my copies in on Monday, and they sounded great. Those who are complaining about the sound must have not cleaned their record properly, or at all for that matter.

thank god i just looked at my e-mail, finally snagged a copy! who would have thought work would be so busy on a fri? Also, I have an extra copy of this, so i'll be more than happy to help someone out. So stoked to finally have this one.

Almost missed this. Glad I got this!
Same! thank god for it being slow at work, or i would have never checked my e-mail until tomorrow probably lol

150 left, I don't anticipate them lasting very late into the evening.
Glad I caught this.
So fucking stoked that I own this and don't have to pay much for it! thanks so much RFC

Yeah, Threat Level definitely grew on me, and the album grew on me. I still like Copacetic better, but that's just my opinion. This album definitely kicks ass though, I just wish they made more aggressive songs like they did with AHOBD, i mean Jeremy McKinnon produced the album!! lol Still a great offering, it sounds like they're going for the more poppy sound like NFG.

I completely see where you guys are coming from, and definitely respect it. But to be honest... I actually really like this album, and it's one of my favorite releases this year from that genre. After the first three songs they released I was pumped ("Pretense" is still one of my favorites from the album.) I've listened to KP for a while (While I Stay..., The Weight That..., and Don't Come Home), but just never really got too into them. It wasn't until WISS when they REALLY got my attention. And I don't know, now I just really enjoy this album. I feel like now that I have such an appreciation for them I should go back and listen to their older stuff again. I hope this album grows on you guys though!
I love all of thier work and this album is no different for me. As said above me "Pretense" is a great song and may be the best they have written, Also "Evergreen" and "True Contrite" really stand out to me.
Agreed, besides the going back and re-listening lol I will say that this album is by far better than any release put out in this genre this year. We all say that bands need to progress, switch up their style, etc. but when they do they get criticized for it. I'm glad that KP is expanding their sound, they don't just talk about one subject, they know how to make good metaphorical themed songs. I love this album.

this was meh, i still have high hopes for this album, but it looks like it won't beat KP's Copacetic.
-
wow, this is bad... looks like their going a more pop route...

This thread is about The Wonder Years' new album. This forum is about music. If you want to talk about those other issues, which have NOTHING to do with TWY's new album OR music, start a thread in the Everything Else forum.
There already is one. A few people can't help but bring it up in every semi-relevant thread they can. No one is ignoring any issue cwhit. Just because we listen to a band doesn't mean we hate women, support rape, etc. Get over it.
Seriously, what is talking about it on here going to do? We get it, it's fucked up, but if you're so concerned then go start a petition or become active in protests about things of this nature. Talking about how fucked up it is on here isn't going to change anything.

I've learned to not get too invested in musician's personal lives because it normally ends with disappointment. Just listen to the music and leave it at that. I probably wouldn't like half the bands that I listen to frequently if I let their personal decisions and attitudes affect my opinion on their music. However, I do draw the line at rape or murder (AILD)
this. Social Media is obviously has it's positives and negatives, but when it comes to music, it all seems to be negative for me. I remember being so out of the loop over my favorite bands/musicians and their personal lives. It was all a mystery, and now that social media has become so popular, all of these musicians post their personal lives and views all over the internet, and it ruins it for me. You can literally find out anything you want about your favorite musician now, and to me that kinda sucks. I liked how it was a few years back when you didn't know anything about the artist or what they were about until you actually went to a show or watched a documentary they put out with their latest LP. Now, it just seems like all of their lives and personal matters, opinions, etc. are displayed on social media for all to observe and it sucks, to me, the mystery is gone. Luckily for me, I don't follow my favorite bands on every platform, and if I do, it's for updates on what music they're putting out or news regarding merch or whatever it may be regarding music. I coul care less about any of the drama that goes on in their lives or what their views are, it just ruins it for me. Some musicians that I thought were so awesome seem like some pretty lame people thanks to social media.

An AltPress had got leaked, MCS release ad. Mentions touring with TWY this fall. I wanna say TWY also posted on Instagram about it, but I may be wrong. Either way, it's happening.
the split was listed on that FB post but they must have removed it because I'm sure it wasn't supposed to be announced
found the ad
Sweet!! this is awesome, thanks guys!
