But still, the foundation of blink was the perfect mixture of "Mark songs" and "Tom songs" and without "Tom songs," it simply isn't blink anymore. They need to wear blink-182 shirts to blink shows and keep all their independent projects separate. That's the way it was before and that's the way it still should be. There's even a lot of AVA-ey sound to neighborhoods that I didn't like. The main problem is that they're letting their side projects leach into Blink 182.

I admit that I don't like AVA as much as blink, but the money Tom is making off of it is phenomenal. He had to spend years to get the merchandising, the album, the film and other things to follow, and he can't just drop that all at once to record for blink. If you had 3 tests tomorrow you had to study for, and your fourth teacher says "hey we're going to have a test tomorrow," tell me that you wouldn't be upset or even overwhelmed. He has too much on his plate right now. An average person thinks that a family and a full time job is too much to handle. Tom is operating multiple companies, working with two bands, and has a family to take care of.

I'm going to say right away that I'm not taking anyone's side in the issue, but I can see why Tom would be afraid to record again. The last two recordings were disasters for the band, and Mark and Travis are pushing the album on Tom when he's clearly very busy with AVA.

Don't mean to thread-jack here, but if Jayb doesn't want the I miss you single, I'd be interested. But he definitely gets first dibs!

You've got to consider, however, that they've all made mistakes. They're all acting immature and the band just wouldn't be blink without any of them. It doesn't matter whether Mark, Tom, or Travis was leaving and who was to blame. They've been best friends for decades and I'm sure they can work it out.

Honestly, I don't know what to think of the whole thing. I mean, yeah, It's Tom's choice what to do with his life, but it still hurts to think that the music that got me through some rough times isn't going to be made anymore... but at the same time, I think that blink died out a long time ago anyways. It doesn't matter whether the band is together or not, the music will always be there, and it will always mean a lot to me. I think Tom has screwed up now in the exact way he did ten years ago, but unfortunately, (and I can't blame them) Mark and Travis are fed up with it and likely wouldn't take him back even if he wanted. I hate to say it, but I think that Blink with Tom is over for good this time.
