  1. you are correct, he did say it in the thread but continued to ignore my PM's, although he requested that I PM him and he would give me all of the information there. Maybe it is insanity. I really don't know. Thus again, why I started the topic. I have gotten some PM's from some users who say 10 to 14 days with no real communication is warranted. I think he will produce. But considering some past internet dealings, I try to guard myself and more importantly, my money.
  2. Thanks Daegor, the detractors really do not bother me. I am fair and honest in my dealings on here and on any other service. I fully expect to receive the record as the user did have a very good rating. However, when your PM's are ignored, then after stating in the thread that you would like an update, then they say "I sent it, PM me" and you have already PM'd twice, and they still haven't responded, you do tend to question if things are on the up and up. Apparently no one (or very few) on this board have ever been screwed in a deal on the internet. Unfortunately, I have. Tellallyourfriends, I really admire your originality (sarcasm, since you may not get it). And let me break this down for you, since you seem to be having an issue comprehending it. I am not impatient. I did not ask for the record right away. I simply asked for communication. One record I bought off Discogs last year was a similar situation. I bought it, two days later the guy messages me saying he is out of town on a convention (he taught at a college). He stated it would be a week to ten days before he was back in town, then he would ship it. And he did just that. Wonderful transaction, left his great feedback as he did me. You seem to blur the lines between impatiently wanting a product now and an expected level of merchant courtesy. Also, you are correct in that I did start this thread after 3 days. But what you seem to be missing is I was curious if this was the norm. Most of my purchases have been on discogs, amazon, or ebay. In almost all instances, there has never been a delay, not even of three days. And my concern was generated because we had a good conversation going until the money was sent, then it stopped. You can try to convolute things so that it fits into your distorted view of reality thus giving you a soapbox to preach on, but I really don't give a fuck. Opening a dispute with the seller here is nothing I would even consider unless it went more than 10 to 14 days without any appropriate communication. That may be impatient in some of your eyes, but from some of the PM's I have received, I'd say it's not. Per usual, I do appreciate the constructive replies.
  3. CM, I have talked to Danny at SRC. I am still awaiting resolution on that. This recent post was in reference to a purchase I have made here on VC.
  4. The normality of absurdity is most normally absurd.

  5. I have already had one transaction and it was fine. I have purchased over 100 albums from Discogs and never had 1 issue, in fact 100% rating. Again, not expecting it to be here NOW, but communication within 8 days is not an absurd request. I really couldn't give a fuck if you choose to sell to me or not. I understand things happen in life. But when you repeatedly log on and ignore PM's then SPECIFICALLY tell me to PM you when I already have, seems a bit odd.
  6. I think 8 days is plenty to provide someone with some communication. I am not expecting it here within 8 days necessarily, but I am expecting communication from the seller. To say that is impatient is absurd.
  7. It has now been 8 days. The only response was on the thread of sale that said he had sent them out just to shoot him a PM. Keep in mind, I had already sent him 2 PM's that he declined to respond to and he has still failed to respond after he stated that on the thread. Yet, he has been on numerous times since saying so. So is it still impatience or should I start to worry?
  8. I have had similar experiences on ebay. One time, I needed a gift for a birthday present. I emailed a lady, who had listed she would ship priority. I asked her, before bidding, if she would ship immediately once I bought. Seeing how she had advertised priority, it would make it here, but right under the date for the birthday (about six days from the day I would have won the auction). She wrote me a long email about how she definitely would ship it quickly, with the method advertised and she was a long time trusted ebay user. Well, I won the item. The birthday came and went, I had no item. I emailed her numerous times over the course of about 2 and a half weeks. I always got an excuse how "you can't trust the postal office". I then finally received the item, and it was shipped media mail. Not only did she falsely advertise her shipping method, she assured me prior to winning of that shipping method. However, the item was as advertised. I, as you did, simply left neutral feedback stating that item was as advertised but should have been shipped with the method paid for. She left me a nasty feedback about how "This user doesn't understand postal rates or the post office!" Ebay looked into it, removed her feedback and refunded me my s&h costs. So, all in all, I was happy. I didn't mind paying for the item as it was as advertised. In your case, I think the refund offered was appropriate for the difference. But did you get a full refund or just a portion to account for the grading difference? It seems to me, to make both seller and buyer happy and if you wanted to keep the record, to just offer a portion of the refund back for said difference. Otherwise, refund all and ship his record back to him. I have a hard time finding sympathy for people who false advertise, but there could have been a better solution.
  9. Fair question, Serious Business. However, I had not read the negative things until I started having this experience. I also saw their BBB rating was a F. Granted, I should have done this research before buying, but the zealot in me took over when I saw the records I wanted. From now on, I will stick to Discogs when ordering online.
  10. Understood, but no not a first year law student. Simply a fan of vinyl, new to this and SRC, who foolishly used a message board to ask what appeared to be a legitimate question. Who would have thought a message board to be used for such chicanery? Unbeknownst to me, I was also using incorrect prose.
  11. Sorry Jerseypride, I will try to use more profanity and sentence fragments in an attempt to fit in from this moment forth. I may even sling feces, since that is about as germane to the topic as your reply. XXsilence, for three days after I made the initial order, they all maintained the same status they had previously. It wasn't until last night that the status on each individual record had changed. Granted, prior to that I wasn't even unable to view it due to what they deemed a technical error.
  12. Something Vinyl, the reason I am worried is because of the countless horror stories I have read about since submitting the order, the change in status of 3 of the 4 records I have ordered and the lack of response from email inquiries. And generally when I order something off the internet that is labeled "in stock", it is shipped in a matter of days, and any out of stock item is appropriately handled quickly or with an offer of refund. It's not simply impatience, its the litany of other bad experiences from other users, coupled with my experiences at countless other online retailers.
  13. If they are unable to perform the transfer of goods in a timely manner. I state this because, as I said, when I placed the order only 1 item showed on backorder. Now that i have placed it, all four are.
  14. Thanks for the responses, and the timely Willy Wonka reference. I am far less concerned about the VC user. This is my second transaction on VC and the first was just a bit different, so that had me a bit on edge. Plus the rapidity of the early responses contrasted with the lack of response now. But I will give it time. As far as SRC, I think my bank will give me my money back in a dispute, regardless of SRC's policy. They have failed to uphold their end of the bargain, which would seem to be a violation of contractual law. I will file that dispute with my bank on Tuesday, Thanks again.
  15. Wanted to get some of you regulars insight on this as both of these purchases are new to me. 1.) On February 4th I ordered some records from Shop Radio Cast. At the time of placing the order, all showed "in stock" except one. It was listed as on backorder with a 3 to 5 day window. On the evening of February 7th, I logged into SRC to check the status of the order. I still had the same disposition, and when I clicked "order details", I repeatedly received an error. I emailed customer service and was emailed back with "well a couple of your items are on backorder, we will get them in next week and ship." So it went from 1 being on backorder, to a couple. After not seeing any status change for this week, I logged back in last night and it now shows all four I ordered to be on backorder. I have, unfortunately, since read numerous horror stories about dealing with SRC. I am thinking about contacting my bank and disputing the charge as SRC has failed to complete their contractual obligation and they are no longer responding to my emails. How long should I wait before doing so? 2.) On Wednesday, I purchased an LP from a user on VC message boards. I will refrain from using the users name at this point, as i am not sure if something has happened that has caused a slow response. I sent a message inquiring on a price, he responded quickly. I then sent a message inquiring condition, the response was once again quick. I then went to paypal and paid for the album, which was 3:38 PM CST. Since paying for the album, I have received no messages, although the seller has logged in numerous times. He has given me no status updates. I sent a PM last night asking if he was going to be able to provide a tracking#. He has been on and read this message and declined to respond. Should I be worried? The seller has a good feedback history.
  16. I guess we all can't be as creative as noalarmplanet. When exactly did you join MENSA? And Bladie, I would probably be the last person to make a mysogynistic remark. Either your memory has performed a disservice or you're simply vacuous. It's up in the air at this point.
  17. Typical of most message boards. Same happened to me here last week for asking a few questions. It's that pack mentality. Erase the new intruders quickly. Just some sanctimonious bullshit. Personally don't like Hoobastank at all, but if this guy does....so?
  18. As I would equally appreciate a marked reference to the D.A.R.E. program in yours.
  19. Thanks Tape. I will look into it. Scott, I listened to the album in its entirety on Youtube last night and I can't say there was a bad song on it. Very excited to get it. Now, if I could just post some asinine meme to indicate my lack of original thought and an obvious pervasive sense of comedic brilliance...
  20. I have only heard two songs off Pale Emperor, and they were both pretty good, but nothing that made me feel that I needed to purchase it. I did read a couple of reviews online where they stated it was somewhat his return for antichrist form. That, in itself, has me interested. I will check into it further, especially if you think it holds up well against his past work.
