  1. Yes, it's like buying a gift card for half the price.
  2. It says it is good at 19 locations (click the "view 17 more locations" under the "Locations" tab) and online... so if a nearby location isn't listed, you could use it on the website.
  3. Figured this would be relevant since Guitar Center sells turntables, cartridges, needles, etc... Living Social is offering 1/2 off Guitar Center today: https://livingsocial.com/deals/100335?ref=conf-jp&rpi=22974631
  4. Thanks, but I don't really want to buy it when a free replacement was promised to me.
  5. Thanks, but I don't really want to buy it when a free replacement was promised to me.
  6. My problem hasn't been taken care of yet. Just sent him an email to see if he's still willing to fulfill his promise. Waiting for a response / record. Thanks for your input though.
  7. Just saw this... sending you an email right now RJ. And for the record, I obtained the phone number from searching the "Who is" of the Academy Fight Song website domain. This information is "open domain" to the public, and I assumed the number was likely a business number and not a cell phone number. Sorry for posting it... however, after feeling ignored for so long, it seemed like the only thing left to do.
  8. Yeah, he doesn't respond to my emails anymore. I understand that he might be busy, but this has been going on since last November... unacceptable if you ask me. I found a phone number for him, might try calling him: 210-632-7128
  9. Still nothing... anyone know a way to get a hold of this guy?
  10. May 19th - Still no record, still no response to emails.
  11. Yeah, I wish he'd just follow through with what he's promised (ie, to replace the record)
  12. It's now April 29, and after multiple email attempts, I still haven't heard anything - and still haven't received the record.
  13. Has anyone else had a bad experience with Academy Fight Song? I've had an awful time with them since purchasing Copeland - In Motion. Here's the deal: I purchased Copeland - In Motion (Brown) on November 18th. I received a warped copy of the record on February 8th. After trying to get ahold of RJ for three weeks, he finally responds on February 28th after I post on here about receiving a warped record and no response. His response email said that he'd send me a replacement record. On March 11th, I emailed RJ asking if the record had shipped - with no response. On March 23rd, I emailed RJ again asking if the record had shipped - no response. It's now March 25th, and all I have is a warped record that wont play.
  14. I ordered two copies of Copeland - In Motion (brown & coke bottle clear), and the brown copy is extremely warped. I put it on the turntable to see what it'd do, and it sends my needle jumping. I wrote RJ and received no response. I'm a bit disappointed with this label - they've put out some good records, but every time I order from them, my records arrive in poor shape and they wont return my emails to even try to make things right.
  15. Hey! I didn't get your email - can you DM the address you had it sent to? Thanks!
  16. Hey! I sent an email through the web store about the destroyed jacket that I received (as instructed here), and never heard back...
  17. Hey dreamover, I received mine today and the vinyl looks GREAT, but my jacket arrived pretty destroyed. Do you have any extra jackets that you could hook me up with? Thanks!
  18. Does anyone have the new Third Man Records colored releases? I'll buy / trade for them. I'm looking for these: Black Belles - What Can I Do Wanda Jackson - You Know I'm No Good There's a signed copy of Wanda Jackson's record on Ebay, but it's a bit more than I can afford! 19. The colored version of this record looks awesome. There's one on Ebay right now with pictures: http://cgi.ebay.com/Carl-Sagan-A-Glorious-Dawn-THIRD-MAN-RECORDS-JACK-WHITE_W0QQitemZ150387571264QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMusic_on_Vinyl?hash=item2303cc3a40
  20. I'm listening right now for the first time to the 180 gram black press. Right off the bat, "Brightest" seemed a bit fast to me and the pitch seemed higher because of it. I know that the song is in the key of G, so I pitched it up with a tuner to make sure that my ears aren't crazy and it was indeed sharp. I then decided to try and match it up with my CD copy and had to slow down the vinyl considerable to get the pitch and speed right. To make sure that it isn't my turntable, I threw another record on and had no problems. Here's a picture of where I had to have it set to sound right: Has anyone else encountered this?
