  1. No kidding? Huh. I honest-to-God saw a blue variant go for $275 on eBay not too long ago. Guess the dude just got bamboozled? Or the auction was simply out of control. One of the two.

Thanks for the heads up. My day would be made if I could score one for less than a hundred.

  2. Get in your laughs while you can. I'm well aware that I'm going out on a huge limb, on this one. I will be exceptionally surprised if anyone is willing to part with one of their Bannon / Axe To Fall prints, but I figured it's worth a shot. Would absolutely love to own a copy of the blue variant, and am considering using a chunk of my tax return to make it a reality.

I figured I'd try VC to see if anyone is in need of the cash, or at least looking to cut a guy a break. I know how much these go for, on eBay, and would love to... not spend $300. Especially since I intend to get a custom frame for it, which will no doubt run me another $80-100.

If anyone is at all interested, please shoot me a PM. Or at least post in this thread. Paypal is the only method I've got, and payment would be immediate.

    /update/

I actually snagged this posted for $37 on eBay about a week ago. For anyone who cares. The posts and links below suggest that - as of 06.09.10 - the average selling price is $112. Guess I got lucky? Commence the quest for a Jane Doe print. If you're reading this and are willing to part with one in good condition, please PM me. I will literally throw money at you. Immediately.

  3. Yeah, no doubt. I think there were also 1,000 copies of Vheissu pressed, weren't there? I've seen that record go for ridiculous amounts on eBay. If you're looking to someday complete the collection, I'd definitely recommend snagging one this week, while you can.

And flippers are definitely going to be all over this one, it's safe to say. I'm willing to bet Awesomebutton's panties are already wet with anticipation. Cha-ching.

  4. i'm so torn on this release. i loved it back in the day, but not sure it'd get much playtime now. i'm gonna listen to this album a few times to see if i want to get it.

Not to sound like a dick, but due to the limited quantities (and the fact that kids over at AP.net have caught whiff of this), I'd only pick one up if you're really into the band or record.

I'm an avid Thrice junkie - both new and old work - and I was pretty hell-bent on picking up four variants of this. But given that this is the "last piece" to a complete Thrice LP collection for so many fans, I'm starting to think one copy would suffice. Still on the fence about it, but assuming this doesn't get repressed anytime soon, I think it would be fair to see this wind up in as many Thrice-fanatic's hands as possible.

  5. It seems as though the new website/store is still another week off from completion. In an effort to get these out sooner than later I'm considering putting them up in the temporary Storenvy store. I will be picking up the records tomorrow and sorting all that stuff for the big day this week....

    Stay tuned!

Please do. The anticipation is killing me[!]

Selfish logic, but what can I say? -- This release couldn't come soon enough. Stoked.

And $14 is hardly anything to whine about. Especially for such an epic release.

  6. Up now through the fan club on clear vinyl. It's 125 to join and only 250 available. Not sure if this will be the only place to get the vinyl though.

I honestly had no idea what you were talking about until I did a bit of Googling. Pretty interesting package they speak of. A little more info, for anyone not in the know.

THE DEAR HUNTER has been taking a much-deserved break after criss-crossing the U.S. for most of 2009 in support of their critically acclaimed ACT III: LIFE AND DEATH, which was released June 23 on Triple Crown Records. That doesn’t mean they’ve stopped working though.

The band has been spending time putting together an extra special, super limited package for fans who sign up for a lifetime fan club membership. For $125, starting on April 14, 250 lucky fans will receive:

    * ACT I: THE LAKE SOUTH, THE RIVER NORTH and ACT II: THE MEANING OF, & ALL THINGS REGARDING MS. LEADING on clear vinyl with brand new, never-before-seen artwork encompassing both ACT I and ACT II.

    * A download card that will contain several never-before-heard alternate versions of songs from ACT I and ACT II.

    * A new digital-only EP featuring 3 brand new songs (unrelated to ACT I-III), available only to members of the fan club upon purchase.

    * A lifetime “The Dear Hunter Passport,” which guarantees entry into any show, anytime, anywhere in the world. Specifically, a laminated pass with their picture on it. *

    * A personal thank you in the liner notes of ACT IV, which is currently in the works.

    * A hand-written letter from singer/songwriter/producer/multi-instrumentalist Casey Crescenzo.

    * A signed poster of the artwork for the limited edition EP.

To make it even more special, there will be ONE Golden Ticket placed in the vinyl packaging that guarantees the recipient a private performance by THE DEAR HUNTER anywhere in the U.S. of their choosing, whether it’s in a club, living room, back yard, school gym, etc.

"After the past 4 years of operating on the standard record cycle system,” explains Crescenzo, “we had been searching for a way to step out of our box. As soon as this idea was presented, we were offered one creative opportunity after another—re-examining our approach to the visual nature of projects from the beginning of the band at the same time we opened the creative floodgates on new material in our home studio. We have always held our fans and friends in such high regard, so offering something special like this is truly exciting, and it gives fans a chance to become an even bigger part of what this band is about."

The band’s website, Facebook, Myspace and Twitter pages will feature a video greeting by Casey Crescenzo, which will include information about the package as it’s made available.*

Minimal restrictions will apply (i.e. festivals, etc.). Entry to shows will be done on an RSVP basis, but due to the limited nature of this offer, it won’t cause much restriction.

I'm going to assume that the clear vinyl is limited in itself, and made available exclusively through the fan club. A regular / alternate colored pressing should be made available in mass, to the general public. Just my speculation.

I really hope not. I'm not paying $125 for the vinyl, a poster, an EP, and a show pass!

    Dude.

    PERSONALIZED LETTER.

Next TCR vinyl, The Dear Hunter Act I & II triple LP details soon

Anyone else a fan of TDH? Act II is quite possibly one of my favorite albums, ever. I had secretly been hoping to someday hear their entire discography on vinyl, but didn't think it would happen so soon. Pretty pumped about this release, even if it sports the inevitable $40 - $50 pricetag.

  8. I was going to order one for a friend :-( . They need to do a huge pressing of this thing like 5000. Black labels, blank covers. Everyone needs to hear this on vinyl.

Agreed. At first, I kind of liked having them as an (amazing) band in my back pocket. The more I listen to them, though, the more I feel that they are beyond under-appreciated. And it's a damn shame. I can't remember the last album that knocked me flat on my ass as quickly as their S/T did. Or Above The Earth, Below The Sky for that matter.

  9. Seriously, man, where have you been? Did you not realize that the thread was created because they're back in stock...?

I WAS SMOKIN' WEED LISTENIN TO SUN O))) MAN!

    also:

Sorry, “12" If These Trees Could Talk - S/T - Black” couldn’t be added to your cart because the last one is currently being purchased by someone else

I ordered one 30 minutes ago and checking now, I could order another... Keep trying maybe?
looks like theyre still in stock. good album. i ordered one last week.
Really bizarre. As soon as I saw this thread, this afternoon, I tried to purchase one. And I received a message similar to "We're sorry: you can't add this item to the cart, because someone is in the process of purchasing the last one."

    [...]

Seven hours later: able to purchase. Huh.

    They're not gone.
this album is great. if anyone doesn't have it, they should jump on this opportunity.

    Etc., etc.

So, either you're too apathetic to read this [relatively short] thread, or you've already forgotten what's been posted in the last few days.

Either way, I think it's a solid sign that you should back down off the green, a bit.

And while it does indeed suck that you can't buy one, at the moment, there's always this:

    HAHA Long gone!

good thing I have all the pressings of this.
