  1. THEY SHIPPED THIS WITHOUT ANY SHRINK WRAPPING/SLEEVES? Man, fuck that, I was going to keep mine sealed for a while. And then the packaging is nothing special / leaves out important details? Way to blow it, Solid State, wow. Them liner notes are looking sick. Get them band approved and I want one!
  2. It is most definitely not secular, I don't know how anyone could get that impression. An album can bring up religion a lot and not be Christ-y. It's more of a backdrop for how the pain is conceptualized. It's extremely not positive and the message it drives home isn't really all about God. I've read the lyrics and listened to this a ton, but that doesn't necessarily make my interpretation more or less valid, just means I've taken it in different ways. But I really strongly don't believe the takeaway message of the record is about God's love given how bleak it is.
  3. Jesus preaching? Are we talking about the same album? The album starts by saying God doesn't give a fuck about you and ends by saying life and loss are so hard that he wishes he never existed. And in between are lyrics about giving up on faith because the demands are too high, getting rejected at the gates of heaven, and how people can't love or understand God. I dont mean to sound like a prick but I hate to see such an emotive album misrepresented like this.
  4. Just listened to my copy. Sounds great, had a blast listening to it. N00b question, but what is the album cover? I know it's a guy (I think Houdini) hanging by a hook, but... is it from a cliff? Is that what the giant purple mass is? Always confused me.
  5. I think you're missing the point if you think this is a youth group kinda album... haha. Not trying to be condescending, but that's really really not what I think that's supposed to be about. The glory glorious thing has always been about subverting that idea to me, like being a straight arrow really doesn't mean anything.
  6. This album is an hour long, I would be mad as hell if the one pressing it got was a single LP with lots of inner-groove distortion. I'll happily pay another $10 to have this be on a double as opposed to a single, on sound quality and aesthetic. Also, turns out there is another pressing in the works. Not definite yet, but another 2000 are a possibility. Have hope you guys! My listening experience would not be as good knowing that the good people of VC did not get a fair crack at their own copy.
  7. Haha, I might have if I weren't super excited about the price and the fact that it was the most rare and longest OOP variant of such a terrific album!
  8. Not exactly related, but once I bought a copy of the OG pressing of Thrice's Major/Minor used and it came in just a manilla envelope. It was the scariest shit ever. I thought I was getting fucked over for ordering a rare-ish pressing for only $15, but luckily it was ok. I'm sorry about how your record got damaged though. Always ship to store, I'd say!
  9. Haha, perfect. Got mine today. Was hoping for more bats and creepy pictures on the lyrics sheet like in the CD because I don't have my own copy of the CD. But seems to be a fine pressing aside from that.
  10. Should be getting my Leather-jacket/Dyed-Hair Black splatter/swirl/starburst/picturedisc special extra darkness version in the mail later today. Would love to see pictures of the other variants to see what I missed!
  11. Pennsylvania reporting, I wish I could ;_; Ordered Amazon despite these sick variants coming out of the woodwork. They did a great job. It'll look great as black, even with my HT represses of Three Cheers and Black Parade. Will eventually get DD too, do people generally dig any press of that more than others?
  12. Album is a solid 8/10, really enjoy it for all its roughness. It's got a fairly unique sound too, not sure of any bands that really sounded like this. Also glad it's coming out in time for halloween, I picked apples to this when I was 13 and had the best time ever. Now I can get cozy with a cup of apple cider and have a blast.
  13. The hot topic press sounds cool, would love to see a picture of it when it's out, but I"m sticking with the black myself.
  14. Yeah, and that. Also I have a good deal of Amazon credit, so I'd rather spend that than real money. But if the variant is something amazing like the Black Parade or something that fits 100% perfectly like Three Cheers, I may have to get that one.
  15. Probably gonna have to go with the black. I'm sure HT will do amazing colors as they have done with all the others, but I'm going to need the highest sound quality release possible because of how rough this sounds anyway. Though my Three Cheers splatter sounded really, really rich and awesome. Anyone else feel that?
  16. So is there any way that I can get this still? Like should I not trust Mahogany at all still? Also, this? http://revhq.com/store.revhq?Page=search&Id=MAHR002
