Nice work. So yeah, about half of the list is out there. But I think the leaked list is mostly accurate. There were maybe one or two titles on the leaked list that I don't remember seeing on the official list. That could mean that those are wrong or they are regional titles. But either way, none of those titles are among the titles that many of you seem excited about.

We aren't really assuming anything. The lists have already been sent out from distributors to stores. The list will change a little bit though. Things are always added and dropped right up until the last minute. But I said from the beginning that leaked list isn't complete and doesn't cover everything. The current list has more than 400 titles and I don't think the leaked list that was linked to on here covers anything close to that. But I didn't do a full count or comparison.

You're both correct. Stores aren't allowed to do it. Stores do it.

I'm not seeing St. Vincent on the Warner list either, unfortunately. But could still show up on a later revision.

The Sundays - Blind and Field Music - Tones of Town are both on the US list.

I'm pretty sure it is the US list. Probably an "import" format as sold by US distributors to European stores. Which explains the currency and higher prices. I could be wrong, though.

The reddit list is basically accurate, but not complete. I don't think it includes the WEA stuff (which contains plenty of good releases).

Just my two cents on this issue. No one that replied is incorrect, but in my opinion it is more a matter of "controlling the narrative" than it is a desire to "get things right". I can't remember a year that the list wasn't revised multiple times even after the official release. The list is going to be a snapshot in time, no matter if it is released 3 months before RSD or 3 days before RSD. Of course it will be more accurate the closer you get to the actual day, but things are changing right up until the end due to both clerical errors and unforeseen circumstances. RSD wants to control the release of this information so they can control the story. They have worked hard all year (in many cases for several years) to bring these releases to fruition so they (deservedly) want to be the ones to reveal the fruits of their labor to the world. If we divulge the whole list now then who is going to want to pay attention to their long-planned big reveal in a few weeks? For me, the real question is, why wouldn't the folks who run RSD release the list to the public at the same time they release it to the stores? One theory is that perhaps the folks at RSD want the stores to feel the pressure of having to make the relatively quick decision about which of these hundreds of titles they should carry, without the benefit of customer input. No store wants to be the lame shop that didn't order enough copies of those one or two titles that people are willing to camp overnight for. So we might as well cast a wide net, right? If the store was allowed to share the list with their customers and had adequate time to do so, many of the same criticisms about certain titles that surface in this thread would undoubtedly be voiced to store owners. In that world, all of these unsold ghosts of RSD past would be moldering in an RSD warehouse somewhere instead of haunting the racks at my shop. Like I said, just my two cents.

No, actually it is nothing like that. If I said "hey, go get this record and put it on eBay and I'll give you %10" then maybe you could make that comparison. Minus the whole robbing a bank is illegal and you would be putting yourself in harms way thing. I'm asking someone to help me get a record that I want. I thought I might be in the right place for that, but clearly not.

If possible it would be better to go close to the time when the store opens today because, as everyone knows, it's kind of a miracle/ridiculous that it is even still in the rack right now.

Sure, no problem. The store is in Pennsylvania. I wasn't trying to give hints. Just hoping that a board member responds who is near enough to the store to go grab the record without too much inconvenience for them. But your point is taken. It is useless to have tons of people responding who are nowhere near the store.

Yes, it would still be quite a drive for you. More than my offer is worth, I'm afraid. I don't know a good way to search members of the board by location and a lot of people don't even list their location.
