  1. That Dan Yemin one is cute. There are a few more that aren't listed right now that will be up soon like a really great flick of Aesop Rock.
  2. Thought y'all might want to know that there are tons of photos (only one of each available) by Chrissy Piper of punk bands etc posted for sale here: http://domystore.com/houston/htx_invites/chrissypiper.html awesome
  3. Thought some folk on here might dig this. We'll have the first 3 issues of 3 Records plus a new one that's just for this show http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=115610828463636&ref=mf Photos by Chrissy Piper. At Domy Books. FREE ADMISSION. Exhibition runs May 15–June 24, 2010 "Not too long ago I was having a conversation with a friend about a few traumatic things that had happened to me when I was younger. She turned to me and asked, "How did you get through all of that? How did you keep going?" My answer was immediate, "Punk Rock." ..... ....I started thinking about the specific records that had opened my eyes to new thoughts and ideas. About the records that made my young self THINK and FEEL. And then I started wondering what those records would be for the people I was close to. Add my obsession for photography and the end result is this show, THREE RECORDS. People naming three records that have changed and/or inspired their lives. Think about it, what are yours? – Chrissy Piper"
  4. So I woke up and finally listened to The Energy LP today.. while there's definitely some major Wire influence on it it's pretty heavy on the TSOL as well. It's a shame this didn't come out 2 or 3 years ago when all the Observers // Clorox Girls related bands were huge - it would've been the hottest shit around.
  5. There's some major Gravity Records influence in there as well.
  6. Who knows. It was a Jamaican 45 from the early 60s. They used whatever they had on hand to press on. It could have been mostly vinyl with pretty much anything as a filler. It's a very brittle feeling material and seems to have "layers"
  7. Of the dozen or so sides I did this on one of them the glue would not budge and I had to seriously spend some time getting it off. I don't think that record was pressed on vinyl though it appeared to be neither lacquer nor styrene
  8. I tried this today on a couple of unplayable 45s and it brought them up to a solid VG. I would not, however, recommend this for average day to day cleaning. This is for records that look like they were unearthed from a beach somewhere.
  9. I went ahead and bit the bullet and made a twitter for this: http://twitter.com/blank_labels - I only plan on posting every 2 or 3 days so no worries about a dozen texts at four in the morning! Thanks for all the support so far
  10. I just started a new blog on tumblr of pictures of records. It'll be updated every day or two (I already have several weeks worth of posts queued up!) Enjoy! http://blanklabels.tumblr.com/
  11. Awesome! I really appreciate it man! I guess just PM me your address and I'll send off for this when my check clears tomorrow.
  12. There's a label called Goldmine that bought up the stock of a lot of soul 45 reissue labels that went under and are selling northern soul grab bags for nothing but to the UK only so I'm trying to figure out how to swing getting one or two of em.
  13. Most days after work I don't have anything to do.
  14. Anyone able to help me with this: I want to order some records from a company in the UK but they only ship within the UK. Anyone able to repack the package and send it along?
  15. It's a beautiful box I'd say it's definitely well worth it. Much better done than the crappy colored wax reissue LPs. The presentation on it is great and straight solid packaging on the box itself.
  16. The random page I picked from that link looked ridiculously similar to Osamu. Thanks for the heads up! Hopefully we can get this for the store.
  17. I got this for Xmas and was really hyped on it as I'll probably never see original copies of these 45s. You should definitely try to pick up the mono reissue of the first LP. It was the only real mix by the band and engineer of the album. The stereo was thrown together by the label as an afterthought.
  18. "I like it! It's like rock but with out all the rock parts. Like just when you think it's going to get good and rocking it's just like.... nothing."
  19. It makes sense if you know me. My taste is pretty much polar opposite of most of the board.
  20. My NAD amp I run through now was sitting by the trash.
