I'd much rather see the Flyers play against Boston next round than the Caps.

This is the playoffs. Women need to man up and skate. Many guys have done it with a lot worse than a broken foot. Gagne could be back for the Conference finals maybe? Carter should suck it up. Carter was already sucking it up from his other broken foot. Carter's break is much worse from what I've heard too. Gagne is getting a screw or two put into his big toe.

Could be worse, you could have had to watch the Pens v. Sens... I don't think either team even dressed their goalies or defensemen for the second period.

The Flyers victory is kind of bitter sweet... word is that Gagne broke his foot and Carter may be out as well after getting hit with a shot from Pronger. Good to see Briere FINALLY wake up and do something. Who knows, maybe Hartnell will start playing soon too, hahaha. Daniel Carcillo can't carry the team alone!!!!

Isn't he already 45??? haha. If he keeps playing like he has, he can stay as long as he wants. I don't get to watch the Caps much, but I just don't understand all the hate on Washington's D. The team has won more games than any other team with a couple non-superstar goalies in net. They have a +83 goal differential. 3 of the top 5 defensemen in the plus/minus rating are on the Caps. They can't be that bad.

Ugh, Philly is a disaster. Part of me hopes they don't make the playoffs. Maybe it will force them to do something about the team. They have some seriously overpaid dead weight on the team and they need a legit starting goaltender. None of the guys on the roster can cut it. Jeff Carter might be back this weekends games against the Rags. They need that scoring. Why he hasn't been on a line with Giroux is beyond me. He's the only guy who can shoot, you'd think you'd play him with the only guy who can pass.

The Pens still have 2 games left against the Thrashers and the Islanders... I'm sure Sid will get at least one more by then.

I hope Crosby doesn't hit 50 goals, mostly because the team I'm playing against in the fantasy finals has him and Stamkos and he's murdering me in goals, assists and obviously also points. I'd think if Guerin didn't tip that shot in, he'd step up and say so.

Sad part is, Carcillo was playing on the first line with Richards and Gagne, haha. The Flyers might actually miss him.

If the league really wants to display all their stars, they should have the all-star game be the winter classic. Then all the young stars will be on display and it's about the only time the national media pays attention in a positive way. New Years day is a little earlier than the half way point, but from a marketing/showcase standpoint, I think it would work great.

In a way but not really, no. The fact here is Crosby was a bit of a whiner in his earlier years. He was getting mugged, he wasn't used to it, and he felt like he could talk to the refs. However, he's not that player any more. Further, this whole idea of "whiners" is just anecdotal crap people use as a way of disguising their dislike of player because he beats them. There's really no such thing as a whiner outside of guys who are in the press after every game blaming everyone but their team. Lastly, the idea anyone would listen to opposing players as to whether another player is a "whiner" is a bit silly. You're letting someone you don't know provide with their opinion based on events never related. Its not like those players actually exposed why, in-depth, they believed Crosby "whines." They just think he's a "whiner." I'm sure similar players thought Forsberg was a "diver." I always thought a fan accusing a player of being a whiner was such a weird thing. No fans are on the ice or in the locker room. As a fan, you just don't know. It's like saying somebody is a bad captain. I have no idea what kind of leader somebody is out there or in the locker room. Who am I to say? I'm not gonna say either way with Crosby because it's pointless. The video/player's poll talks about complaining, which to me is different than whining. If somebody is whining I expect them to be in tears or pretty damn close. Plus, that video is old. The only players who want to switch places with Sakic are the ones who want to retire. He's not even in hockey anymore.

Yeah, it's pretty absurd. No idea what's going on there. Could be worse... they could have to meet with the U.S. Congress to get something done, haha. that hit's dirtier than the hit ovie got suspended for. It disappoints me that Carcillo didn't jump Volchenkov...would've saved a goal too. You'd think Carcillo would have been ready to drop the gloves too since Volchenkov nearly took his head off earlier.

Jeff Carter is done, 3-4 weeks with a broken foot. He was pretty much the only player on the Flyers scoring any goals.

Yeah, I wasn't very high on Emery, I understood it because of money, but it was definitely a step back from Biron... who wasn't the answer either. The Flyers need to cut some deadweight, mainly Briere (6.5m), Hartnell (4.2m) and maybe even Gagne (5.25m). That's just way too much money for what they're getting. Especially Briere. That was the worst contract deal for the team.

After watching the Flyers play (and lose to) the Thrashers back-to-back nights this weekend, I fully anticipate them to lose their spot in the playoffs in their last ten games. They look pathetic.

I've got Seabrook on my fantasy team and the playoffs start next week. I'd hate to dump him, but I've got no defensemen on my bench.

What happened with Cooke?? Only one fight? I thought they were going to draw and quarter him with four zambonis at center ice on the big B? Maybe they should suspend Thornton for intending to injure Cooke with that fight to keep the buzz going. I think the league secretly loves all these head shots and grudge matches. It's the only time the American national media pays any attention to hockey. I don't think the Stanley Cup finals gets this much attention.

When you just hit someone, leaving your skates and delivering an elbow to a player, a player who doesn't even have the puck and you refer to as your "friend" do you really have any right to call out the league? It's like he subtly saying, I wouldn't have done it if so-and-so had gotten suspended. I thought I'd get away with it.
