I mentioned it to Jim today, and asked if he knew if Fender would be releasing them for retail... sadly he didn't know. I have been harassing Fender the past day about it though. I have the natural wood finish but damn that all white looks amazing.

I don't have any way to do this at the moment, but hopefully someone else can do it?

No worries. I mean hell even if you put your phones microphone up to your speaker as it plays My Enemy that would still be something, but that's entirely up to you.

They did the same 5 song set as Looney Tunes, but also threw in "The Authority Song".

We did get the 7" and VV is shipping the vinyl (included in the $5.99 charge).

I have the Fender JA90 Telecaster that I wanted to get signed, but told I wasn't allowed, they would only sign the 7" to keep things moving quicker, but I was able to get in Clarity to get signed instead.

Any chance of ripping and uploading the b-side? I worry there may never be another opportunity to hear it. It would be very much appreciated if possible.

At the signing tonight the owner said that the 7" will only be available as a freebie from them/vintage vinyl. Idk how true that is. Jim said there's a "vinyl" version of get right on the 7" which I also don't know how true that is lol. Then they claimed chase this light came out in 2006 and that integrity blues comes out on oct 27 lol. The jet lag was real today.

But the event tonight was really great! Everyone got an awkward photo with the band during the signing. Each fan got 1 on 1 time with the whole band which was really cool. I asked them their fave songs from integrity blues (Jim: get right, Tom: pass the baby, Zach: pol roger, Rick: integrity blues).

They played 5 songs (lucky denver mint, big casino, sure & certain, get right, the middle). Rick didn't play tho.

Thanks for the info. Damn, I hope the vinyl gets released. If not then I at least hope someone rips My Enemy and shares it online as right now it seems to be the only way to hear that B-side.

yeah its annoying... i don't mind going back up for the album next month, but going back 2 days later for the 7" is dumb. i tweeted them and asked if they could hold the 7" until the album is out. if not maybe i can find someone to pick mine up and send it to me? idk.

i care more about the 7" than the album tbh haha

Good luck! I would care more about that 7" too to be honest. Unfortunately I don't see any way to get it in the UK yet.

Edit: Sorry about the triple post! *facepalm*

I remember both of you ;)

I posted on atpr as 'lobster'. I just frequent /r/postrock these days.

I remember you too! Both as 'lobster' and on /r/postrock. It's quite a comforting thing to see familiar usernames cropping up on different sites. It's a small world of course but seeing familiar faces does make you feel a part of something, if that makes sense.

You were over on the old ATPR boards right? It's been a while.

yes i was! and i remember you from there too. that was a cool place to be. its interesting when these old communities exploded that the users got scattered among various different other online communities and you still see people cropping up here and there sometimes. its cool. still a loyal postrock fanatic, although my allegance tends to be to bands that were around before 2011 or so, so i dont often "feel" the newer bands like i did the genre staples like pg.lost. i mean they certainly arent an "old" band for the genre, but i feel they established themselves in time before the genre really exploded with way too many bedroom musicians to count. thats not a derisive thing either... im a bedroom musician who makes derivative postrock music for fun. but theres something about those bands that really got under your skin in the days when things were still slightly more underground. so i think ill always have an affinity for pg.lost. but yeah i love the new album.

Well I'm miffed. Just found out that there's a train strike on the only two days they're playing in London, so there's no way for me to get there. Guess that's me not going then...

    WHAT!

can you link me to information about this?

    Edit: Found this http://news.sky.com/story/southern-rail-staff-to-stage-48-hour-strike-in-september-10548696

I guess it won't affect anyone travelling from the North down to Kings Cross, which is good, but I really feel sorry for everyone who may not be able to make it to the gig as a result of this.

Hey man! I had no idea you were on here. I did spot you on the JEW subreddit recently though :)

Seeing the guys perform Clarity and Futures in full back-to-back was incredible and definitely one of my favourite gigs. In saying that, most of their gigs I've been to hold great memories.

I wasn't on here before. I confess I just signed up when the new album got announced (please don't hate me, I have preordered the vinyl). Yeah I've posted on reddit; I'm kind of going wherever there's discussion about JEW because unfortunately there isn't a central resource anymore like there was in the BBS days. Although realistically if there was still a message board I'm sure it would be pretty dead by now anyway.

Yeah I didn't get to see the Clarity -> Futures gig which is such a bummer; that must have been amazing. I always enjoy their gigs but last year seeing Jim on his solo tour was by far the most special. Probably my favourite ever concert. Something just so personal about the whole experience. Can't wait for this album. Often my listening habits for Jimmy Eat World wane in-between albums, and then when a new album gets announced I always almost involuntarily bounce back into fanboy mode. There's never been a band that has got under my skin in the same way. I really like the new single too mostly because it sounds quite comfortable for JEW, whereas I felt CTL and Invented were in some sense them trying to hard to accomplish something that isn't really "them". Whatever that means. So yes I'm excited, especially since the production is back to being full-sounding after Damage, which fell quite flat I think, production-wise.

Didn't think much of the single, but still looking forward to checking the album out. Liked quite a few tracks on Damage, and the guys still slay live. I made a lot of good friends thanks to this band.

Gutted the London shows are mid-week, otherwise I definitely would've flown over for them. Can't take the time off work :(

speaking of which, hi burkey, its scott (or with-lucky-denver-mint on the BBS board!). good to see youre still keeping an eye on jimmy. every 3 years i revert back to my fanatical state, trying to get every little detail i can on the new album. will never let this band go!

    Funny guy ^^.

Just got through the last song. 11 on the record. record varies quite a bit, some really slow stuff and some weird heavy guitar sounds on a few. "You Are Free" is my standout so far and "You With Me" (upbeat acoustic song, great harmonies). "Pol Roger" is another super solid song. Album reminds me of the slower/mellow songs on Futures.

Are there any long/epic songs on the album? Get Right is pretty short. Anything in the vein of 23? Or atmospheric tracks like Drugs or Me?

How the heck did you get this?
