  1. I dont care what anybody in St. Louis has to say, every record store in that state is shit! One store colors all the records edges with black marker. One record store is run by complete assholes who knows nothing (I shat on their door step on last years Valentines day). One store Charges outrageous prices and stickes you with mov releases. The last stores inventory is in such bad shape they charge as if the record is mint not rubbish. To back me up I'm 42 and my wife worked as manager at 3 St. Louis stores. It's all mailorder in this state. However my collection came from living in the suburbs of Illinois near Chi town. Mid West Hardcore was the best in the 80's! Cap n' Jazz live was never missed!

If you are 42 and shitting on anyone's doorstep, your biggest problem isn't records.
  2. Fantastic band, the new stuff sounds great. Fourteen Autumns and Fifteen Winters is a modern classic, they are going to do shows opening for We Were Promised Jetpacks, I can easily see more people showing up for Twilight Sad then the supposed headliners, hope they do a run of their own shows at some point. I have a 7"(as well as the entire vinyl discography) of the song That Summer, At Home I had Become The Invisible boy, signed by the original members, while not the most valuable money wise record I own by far, it is pretty high up on my favorite record I own list.

  3. Had a crap experience with Peak Oil. Placed my order, about 3 weeks later and no response from them I opened a Paypal claim, finally got an email that they have sent a replacement and please close the case. Funny, but they have no tracking number for the replacement sent. They also have not responded to Paypal at all. So, I am waiting for a replacement, needless to say I have not closed the case. I will never order from Peak Oil again. As far as great service and great packaging, although it may not be hip, Soundstage Direct, is my go to for less out of the ordinary pressings and Jazz/Blues reissues, they have a great custom mailer and my vinyl arrives pristine every time. They also always have a coupon code for some sort of amount off or free shipping. All That Is Heavy, although a couple dollars maybe more then other places, great service also.

  4. I also was a little miffed at the numbered sticker, enough to email them, they agreed it was a dumb idea and most likely will be gold foil stamping the number on future issues. I cut my sticker and placed it in the flexi holder, behind the flexi. I also got the split seam on my inner sleeve. Overall I guess it was an ok release, but at these prices, is ok really, ok? Underwhelmed in Maine.

  5. Hey folks, if you have a favorite heavy rock album from 2013 that you think should have gotten higher notice, please post them here. Something you think others should know about, and might have come and gone without much fanfare. I'll kick it off with a great record I think every heavy music fan should have bought this year.

ASG~Blood Drive, might take a few listens to get under your skin, but once it does it will become a favorite. Highly suggest any fan of heavy music picks this up. Post your suggestions here.

  6. Digging through the stacks at Goodwill today, came across an LP. la scie musicale/ Emmanuel Brun, bought it just because the guy looked so bizzare. Put it on, and man is this odd music. It is some dude playing a saw type thing, but it is psycadelic almost, truly the oddest thing I have found in a while. Has anyone ever heard this, if not it is worth searching out just for the odd factor.

  7. Real name:

    What's your Facebook/Twitter/Tumblr etc.?:

    Ummm, no.

    Hobbies (outside of record collecting):

Collecting posters, Kozik, Emek, Fairey that sort of thing. I also love camping, hiking, the outdoors, nature in general. Recently have started collecting movie posters also, and vinyl toys.

Play in a band? Run a record label? Link us!:

    Nope

Random things you want us to know about you:

I live in Maine and it sucks, nothing to do, except the outdoors type things. No bands ever come here. I enjoy finding and listening to obscure odd music and bands, American Psych music, horror movies. Just a pretty chill kind of person unless provoked, then I enjoy taking a Rollins type of aggresive attitutde, lol. Other than that, love finding old obscure records from bands and people no one has ever heard of, love that. Glad to be a member here, hope to talk to some of you in the days ahead.

  9. Looking to trade 2 REM WLP 12". Fall On Me and Superman, these are foolishly rare and hard to find in NM condition. These are NM copies and a major score for REM collector. I will trade each one for a DMB 09 tour poster, or I'll trade both for either a spade or Gorge N2. Thanks for looking. For the right poster, I'll even through in 1 NM box set Single Action Green, including poster and all singles.

  10. For sale, excellent copy of a major rarity. Suburban Nightmare/ Hard Day's Nightmare. This includes insert!!!! Pre-Dwarves. Also willing to trade for 09 DMB tour posters. I am on Ebay as meandwife01 and have 100% positive feedback. This is a major rarity in the early days of sleaze punk. Yummy.
