Anyone think this will go below $50? Amoeba has coupon codes that work on preorders, 15% off (APR15) brings it to $50.98

I'm going to do what I did with The Epic and put it on my wantlist on discogs and wait to buy a used copy. I got a copy of The Epic for $25 in NM/VG++ condition. Somebody will buy this only to realize they actually don't like jazz after all and then sell it for half price.

I bought pretty much all my most recent jazz purchases this way and it's been a pretty golden strategy. I've also been able to get a bunch of Music Matters and Analogue Productions jazz reissues this way. I typically pay 50%-60% of retail.

  2. I've never had a vault membership, and I'm typically not interested in the releases offered to members. I'd like to get this, but would be ok with a standard black/nondeluxe version. What are the odds that this will see a regular release in a stripped down form? I thought some more seasoned vault members may be able to offer some info about how releases from the vault work their way into general release and distribution. If i Have to order this with a vault subscription, I just may, but man, I really don't need a mask and a tote bag.

Seriously, all kidding aside, I have honestly never seen someone so capable of spewing so much manure from their mouth and continue to make a bad situation worse. What will it take for this guy to just shut up and realize his poor excuses only make him come off worse and worse?

I messaged him about my order on a reddit thread from a few weeks ago, and he started being a smartass with me, and when I pushed back and brought up the fact that I'd ordered back in August and never received any reliable updates, he suddenly switched and became damn near rational. I thought for the briefest of moments that he might actually start acting like an adult, then he proceeded to pull some more shenanigans in yet another sorry-for-the-delay type thread from this week.

I've given up. This guy is about as mature as my two year old. It's almost like he gets off on being a heel. I just don't get it. I can't tell if he's mentally ill, on drugs, or both.

Looks like the Shopify product page is gone. Officially/finally sold out? I don't believe it.

My guess is they got some sort of cease and desist. I'm guessing that based on the fact that this release has been removed from the Discogs marketplace:

    https://www.discogs.com/MACプラス-フローラルの専門店/release/10960101

That fact, combined with Todd's (the operator of OESB) admission on reddit that "Vektroid's manager (Lincoln Heath of Alchemy)" has been blowing him up via text (I'm guessing for pressing this without proper permission), seems to strongly indicate that not only is OESB ripping off people who ordered this LP, they're also scamming the artist. Here's Todd's statement on reddit:

The drama behind this release is unreal. It's so hard to know for sure what the hell is going on because Todd's story keeps shifting, but my hunch is he took a ton of orders, only pressed a small amount of copies, left most people who ordered holding the bag, and never got proper permission for this release from the artist. I ordered my copy back in the summer, and I've followed all his bullshit, feet-dragging updates along the way, and this is my best guess. I've given up on ever getting my order.

  5. Update to the Macross 82-99. I just got this response from the label.

A million miles away has been shipping. Sailorwave is getting recut cause the test pressings sounded bad.

Thanks for the info. I'm guessing you got an email from the label? It's definitely worth the wait if their test pressings weren't well done. I'd hate to get a bad press of this. Definitely would rather wait and get something that's higher quality.

So, a one time repress of unlimited quantity?

Not sure about the amount they’re pressing, but Fatbeats also confirms that it’s a ‘one time’ press. Also, apparently this does include an OBI strip like the OG version. Someone on this thread asked about that a while back. Here’s the link to this release on the Fatbeats site:

  8. Just an FYI for anyone on the fence about preordering this, according to Sound Stage Direct this is a one time repress:

    Don’t snooze!

  9. I see. I didn't notice that when I looked to see if a thread had been started for this. If this needs to come down, that's cool. Definitely don't want a bunch of redundant threads, but a standalone for the boxset seems warranted to me. I mean, I missed this announcement completely until I got an email from Domino because this announcement was kind of buried.

  10. From Domino's store:
