Too bad-- the mastodon vinyl is killer with the ZZ top and Melvins covers. To top it off Frank Beard plays on his song. My favorite release from the club so far, even though it wasn't really a club selection.

Actually they have been playing together since at least 94. But really that's beside the point, think about it - in the nineties they were young and could get by living at their parents house and playing VFWs on the weekends. It wasn't a way to make a living for them. They are now in their 30s. Making ends meet in a punk band can be tough - I know the EX members of AWS can attest to that.

Relax dude. Not questioning your loyalty. I'm actually really good friends with them grew up with the guys and played in bands with them when we were teenagers. They way you worded your post it looked like you were just looking for a handout. I just know how much work they put into recording and touring. I have capability to rip the songs but I don't really want to put them out there -- once they are easily downloadable there would be no incentive for people to buy the vinyl. Seriously though, the b sides are all throwaway joke songs anyway.

I HATE how you have to cut the sticker to get the record out.

OR you could support the band and buy yourself a copy of the vinyl with the b sides. I'd love for AWS to be able to continue to play music for a living and churn out records for a good long time.

I just got an got an email update on the Vinyl club: Dear Vinyl Club, VEVC has encountered a few bumps in the road… there are a lot of things that can go wrong in the process of pressing a record and this year I seem to have experienced all of them. I had hoped to have the Saint Vitus record already in your hands, but upon receiving the test pressing discovered a flaw in the master… so that record is officially delayed, but will come out later this year. The Philm / Dave Lombardo record is off to press as I write this and I hope to have that to you next month… fingers crossed. Also, you can expect to receive your own copy from a limited pressing of 500 7”s on yellow vinyl of previously unreleased Mastodon… Just Got Paid (ZZ Top cover) b/w The Bit (Melvins cover) for free! Rest assured that your mailman is not (yet) stealing your records and you will receive more than a full subscription before year’s end.
