They weren't pressed on the same day; they just have the same release date. When the pre-order sold out, they did another press before the street date (today).

A friend at S1D sent it to me. Maybe your friend at S1D knows the answer to this. What color will S1D use for future pressings of this record? I ask because the black has been advertised as the most limited pressing. Does this mean that future pressings won't be on black? If they are going to be repressed on black, will there be any way to tell if you have a first press as opposed to a repress?

For anyone still looking for a copy on black, this was posted on the gaslight fan forum: for anyone in the US that missed out on this via ShopRadioCast, XOXO has some available at http://shop.bandsonabudget.com/products/this-charming-man-every-little-secret-lp They have 20 copies of the black and 60 copies of the brown.

The only one I know of is Banquet, which doesn't make much sense if you're stateside.

The lack of more copies to profit from makes them sad. I compare this release to pressing the soundtrack for the movie that the vampire guy from Twilight was in before Twilight. Pathetic yet profitable. Completely agree. Giving people the opportunity to buy something they actually want is wicked lame. There should be some sort of committee of elite people who get to veto something like this before it gets pressed.

Virgil's comment on the suburban home site: there is obviously some confusion. I worked directly with xoxo assuming that Brian was in on the loop. I’ve had conversations with Brian about this, too, but so much time has passed since we first started working on it, it is possible that Brian thought it was never coming out. I responded to Brian’s tweet and hopefully will clear things up. Brian isn’t the easiest guy to communicate with and is obviously busier than most of us. For the record though, I sent 100 copies to Brian’s management company, Tribeca. Yeah. I have a feeling these are gonna go pretty quickly since the Bowery Ballroom only holds 550 people.
