fuck manny. that dude fucked around with 2 of my records so bad, i vowed to never press there again. so slow.
Yeah, he's the one that delayed the Jonesin/DJ record as long as it did as well as my other two records. He's a douchebag and I'm glad he's finally gone. They really are a good plant, it's a shame they had that one idiot working there ruining things for them.
-
I heard about this a month ago but I also heard he would still be there for another month. Glad he's finally gone.

Corona is one of the worst beers around, even when dressed up. I hate adding any lime/lemon/salt to ANY beer.

So I need some advice.
I want a new TV, but I want to try and spend under $1,000. My couch is roughly 8 feet from my TV.
Since I'm on a budget, I'm looking at Vizios. They're not Samsung, but they get great reviews. Two of my friends have them and they love them. I'm thinking of buying at Walmart (I know), because their return policy is very flexible and they have a solid deal on two sets I'm looking at.
Another thing to note, I currently have a 32" HDTV and while it's small in the living room, it's not terrible (it'll be moved to my bedroom). My surround sound died and it's not that big of a deal to buy a new one due to limited space in my living room.
Ok, with that being said, here is what I'm looking at:
There is this 47" TV for about $1100 -- I'm looking at close to $1200 after PA sales tax.
According to this thread/ad there will be a 42" TV bundle on sale this weekend for $800. The bundle includes a soundbar, mount, and HDMI cable. I don't need the mount/cable, so I could probably return them to the store for credit (and put it towards Beatles Rock Band).
Should I be the smart shopper or compensate my small height in a bigger TV?
Check out the selection at TigerDirect.com. Good deals, cheap shipping and no tax. They even have good deals on refurbs if you feel comfortable doing that.

Stymie rules. I saw them last year in Austin and they were incredible.
The AOTU 7" didn't do much for me...but the production was pretty bad.
I haven't spun the AOTU 7" yet but their recordings are all pretty bad. They're low budget DIY recordings, I wouldn't expect much. Although I do enjoy high-fidelity records I do appreciate and respect a band that still does it themselves.

it's an annoying convenience fee...and split the cost up between 2-5 people makes it affordable.
instead of taking a cab to and from some remote hotel...it's a necessary evil at this point.
Well, the Holiday Inn is all booked up anyways, so it's a moot point. Now I just need to figure out where to stay.
-
There's people that want to spend $180 a night on a hotel room... and there's everybody else. Plus, the Holiday Inn is BOOKED SOLID, so it's not even a choice at this point.
Where's everyone else staying? Was gonna do Paramount but it's too far. Thinking about Rush Lake but I'm not sure what other options there are closer to the action. I like Rush Lake because there are typically a lot of other Festers staying there so it's good for meeting other people, whereas staying at some other random hotel might be filled with "regular" people.

Hopefully they add some more good bands because I was going to try to go this year. But right now the lineup isn't good enough for me to spend the money. Most of the bands I'd go see I've seen a million times. They've had some incredible lineups in the past so I hope they have some surprises up their sleeves.
-
Right now Eric at I Heart U is running a really good sale. He has a minimum order of 20 shirts but there are no setup fees and the prices are so good that you might not mind buying a few extra shirts. Hit him up.

Pretty weak lineup this year.

I need to get a simple website done for my label. Nothing crazy, just a few different pages and a web store for my distro.
Not looking to copy anybody but here are two sites that suit my needs and is all I'm looking for.
If you can help please PM me with an estimate for something along those lines along with examples of websites you've done in the past.
Thanks!

All of you UK guys should really be supporting what Alan does, he's the best!

Are you able to screenprint yourself? If not then check out www.moxicopy.com they're a printing service that can make full color prints that are high enough quality to be a 7" cover for super cheap. Just cut and fold them yourself and you can get 500 full color covers on a good paper stock for less than $100 shipped. Pick up a bone folder and a clear T-handle ruler from a craft store and you'll be able to fold straight lines every single time. Sam from Traffic Street turned me onto these guys and they do really good work. PM me if you want more info like what options I select and what paper I use. I'm too lazy to type a bunch of shit out tonight.

order with other records! i've got enough stuff in the distro.
I think this plays to your advantage, sir.
You act like he's making a bunch of money off of this. As if theres even money to be made off of selling punk rock records that only a small handful of people even a give a shit about. Chew on this... every time you order one LP or one 7" from a label and they aren't charging $3-4 for shipping then that label is LOSING money. Think about it, if Sam charged a buck for shipping then what happens then? He pays at least 2 bucks to ship it and has to some how try to recoup his costs with only $3? Not gonna happen. I run a small label and distro and I see how everything costs money and I only charge $5 ppd for a 7" because I want to get this music out there... People love it and they say they like the cheap shipping, but fuck me, I lose my ass every time I ship one 7". Records don't get pressed on compliments and high fives, they get pressed on money. So if you want to support REAL independent music and want to see it continue to thrive then I really suggest buying more than one 7" so you can get your money's worth in shipping and Sam can keep putting out records.
This isn't directed at you, you may have been kidding. But I'm a little drunk and I felt like now was a good time to ran against all the entitled kids that don't realize how money time, effort and most importantly MONEY goes into all this. It's not cheap to press, package and ship a record but nobody wants to pay for it either so all the little guys that do this do it out of love and they depend on the support of others to keep it going.

TOL was pretty bad but then again I never really got why everyone loved Jawbreaker so much.

Who cares what label a band is on...
The internet.
For example: There is this band called Against Me! that everyone on the internet used to love. Then they signed to a major label and now the internet just talks shit on them.

I was in the audience for a taping of the Price is Right back when Bob Barker was doing it. They didn't retape anything like that and I didn't get the idea that any of it was scripted in that way.
I don't think it was scripted, per se, but rather they just didn't get "that shot".
Drew was hilarious between segments. He and Rich Fields were constantly talking to the crowd, making jokes, etc.
My only real bummer about the show was that the contestant selection isn't really random. There's a short "interview" before taping, where they talk to you for maybe 15 seconds, and with that, they pick contestants. (They don't tell you ahead of time who is picked, though)
Episode I sat in on aires on November 10th
I think the interview is in place just to make sure they don't pick some total spazz or stutter or make sure they're dressed appropriately or something. I know if they would have picked me at random they would have been bummed, I was dressed like a total asshole.
The whole thing was pretty boring, though. The show was OK, but we had to get there at like 3 in the morning and the taping didn't start until 1PM. Huge waste of time, but it was my friend's birthday and she wanted to go.

I highly recommend a 90* adaptor. It might not make sense now but when you plug the cables in you'll see how plugging them straight in (the way the TV is designed) could potentially damage the HDMI port in the TV.

I just want to say your avatar rules. No one remembers that show. I used to watch it every day
Blue skies, Barfie brugers, GIRLS!
The show was great. I wonder if I can find episodes online?

It looks like that dude actually has shit in his belly button.

As Scott said, this has been rumored for a while. A good friend of mine works for Epitaph and she also just so happens to be Ryan's ex and she told me almost two months ago their next record would be on Epitaph. Whether or not they actually signed yet, I'm not sure.

Ordered a copy.
Plus I went ahead and preordered that CD through S1D so that I could get the pic disc 7".
Oh yeah, I preordered that new Chuck 7" through VC yesterday along with that Chuck/Brian Fallon 7".
After all these years I'm still a sucker.
What was the final word on that live LP? Is VC getting some?
