  1. Actually, that's one of the things I really like about the VPI tables. You can choose to upgrade at your own pace and willingness. Sure, you can just buy a turntable that is fully decked out from the get go. But there is joy in the learning and appreciating of differences upgrades make. That "journey" of upgrades, actually educates you of how these things come together and make a better whole. I've learnt a lot in my own VPI journey. Of course enjoy your VPI table all along every moment...that IS the point
  2. In that case, I'll add another suggestion. When you get the chance, get the aluminum platter. You should be able to sell the acrylic one for a good price as well, which will help with the acquisition.
  3. Oh crap...that's right. My bad...lack of sleep is getting the best of me today. Anyhow, for the OP: 1) Get the VPI center weight and ring when you can. Huge difference in sound. Bigger, stable bass...better soundstage and increase in image focus. You simply CANNOT go wrong. Warped vinyl is not an issue for the most part, unless the vinyl has one of those weird warps. 2) Change out the stock VPI feet for some mapleshade brass footers or Edensound brass ones. 3) Get a maple platform under the whole table motor assembly. Use isoblocks UNDER the maple platform. The thicker the platform, the better. You will be astounded at the differences in sound you will get from these tweaks.
  4. Irrelevant...you didn't answer my question. Acrylic or aluminum?
  5. Is this the Scout 2 (I think it has the aluminum platter) or the Scout 1 with the acrylic platter? PM me and I will tell you about upgrades that would audibly improve your table SIGNIFICANTLY. Congrats!
  6. I can trade you with: Mastodon/The Flaming Lips "A Spoonful Weighs A Ton" Warner Bros. 7" baby pink vinyl. MSG me if you're interested.
  7. Ok secured a copy. A store got back to me. Thanks guys!
  8. Looking to buy the vinyl. I didn't get this at any of the 3 stores I visited. Thanks!!!
  9. What's the price on this? Can I get a range? It is supposed to retail for $80 (deluxe edition), but I bought mine for $100 at a local store. Bloody expensive!
  10. Don't SELL them! You have no idea how the remasters will sound. Compare and then sell the ones you don't want.
  11. Damn, I bought the MCR - The Black Parade that was on the ht sale and got it today. It was NOT the box set version as it seems like from the price. I gambled that it was and got burned on it LoL! It is the regular double LP version but I still don't understand how it could POSSIBLY be priced at $59.98. With the sale and shipping it came out to be $26 out of pocket which is about the full retail price of this album. Oh well.... I did score so much vinyl that's it's all good in the big scheme of things To balance it off, I did buy John Coltrane - The Heavyweight Champion Rhino Vinyl Box Set for $120 from somewhere else so u win some, u lose some Current prices are hovering around $450 and up.
