  1. Over here that bubble dome theatre is called OmniMax. Different from IMAX.

oh haha, well, that is probably what I am referring to. Whatever, all movies should be shown in that!

I think you have to use a special kind of camera/lens/film for that. Probably not so practical. But the documentary type stuff that is shot for it is pretty rad.

  2. The theatre company I used to work for has been doing this for a long time.

But, I think it was only $2 more, and it was def. worth it because it was Harry Potter.

But, they should bring back the original IMAX, where it was on the ceiling and the wall in a big bubble like room. Remember those days?

  3. I don't buy the argument that "meat is murder" when an animal is killed for consumption. I think hunting in order to put a deer head on your wall could classify as murder, but humans killing an animal in order to eat it is no more murder than a lion killing a gazelle. I do think that meat consumption should be done in moderation and ethically, like pretty much all human activity. The fact that we understand our place in the food chain doesn't mean we're obligated to remove ourselves from it.

  4. I've heard white and clear are the worst too. If it's not true it's a well-traveled rumour.

I just hate white because it almost always looks really cheap and tacky. Every white record I own looks better in some other variant which I would happily trade for even if white is more limited and valuable.

  5. I think it's correct that analog was on its way out in the 90s. But I think it was in the mid to late 90s starting with pop albums not rock albums. I think a friend explained to me that the first purely digital record was the Ricky Martin one that had Living La Vida Loca. And it was all down hill from there. I'm not an expert or anything, but my rule of thumb is any rock vinyl before 97 or so (so anything from the height of 90s alternative) is going to sound fantastic. I have the Weezer album we're talking about, and Everclear "Sparkle and Fade" which sounds brilliant too.

  6. Mr. Big, definitely.

I still laugh when I think about how huge that band always has been in Japan. I think they're the reason why it's funny to say something is big in Japan. I was there when Avril Lavigne broke out and was huge all over the world, and she was second on the Japan pop charts behind Mr. Big live in Tokyo farewell concert.
