  1. I did figure out a way to import a .csv file into RecordPress, so to anyone with their collections in Excel, Google Docs, Discogs, or any other site that allows you to export your collection as a .csv file, you can move it over. I just imported a .csv file into mine and it worked fine, but the biggest thing to consider is matching up information. For example, if you have your collection in Excel you need to have columns that match up with the information in RecordPress, which is Artist | Album | Size | Variant | Label | Pressing. It doesn't matter what the column name is, and you can have more or less columns of info, but only the matching info will work. Unfortunately, the only matching information that Discogs stores is Artist, Album, and Label. So when I imported a Discogs collection the fields of size, variant, pressing, and the album image still needed to be filled in because Discogs doesn't store that information in their .csv export. I'll update the How to Use page on www.recordpresstheme.com with how to do the .csv import for anyone who is interested.
  2. Just like Derek said, you upload the album image at any size and it will automatically resize itself to a thumbnail. When you click on the thumbnail a lightbox comes up that shows a larger view of it. If you watch the video on www.recordpresstheme.com you can see the whole process of adding an album, it takes about 30 seconds.
  3. To the people who keep saying that they deserve to have the theme for free and that my time and skills aren't worth anything, that's a really foolish way to try to get me to give it to you for free. If everyone was really supportive and considerate I would have been much more likely to give out a few copies, but why would I do that for people who have been mean and act entitled? If you don't see the value in the theme or don't think it's worth $10, then that is perfectly fine, don't buy it and use one of the other free methods. There's just no use in continuing to complain about the price, because the reality is it's priced very cheaply for a WordPress theme, and I have no intentions of appeasing just a handful of people who have been inconsiderate towards me.
  4. I'm not suggesting it, I'm telling you that he did (http://www.charliewagers.com/2012/11/recordpress-wordpress-theme/). So any of your design related issues can be taken to him, I just developed the PSD I was given.
  5. As I've now mentioned several times, I didn't design it, I just developed it. If you have issues with the design, take it up with the designer and maybe he'll change it, but complaining on this thread isn't going to do anything at this point.
  6. As the thread shows, I never said any of that. Of course I want people to use it, but I originally had it listed for $20 and then for Black Friday through Cyber Monday I have it listed for half price. Just because a few people want a product for free doesn't mean the person or company selling it should give it away. That's not saying "Fuck You", that's saying, I spent 30 or so hours on this project and I think my time and the theme is worth more than nothing. I have nothing against anyone on here, this was literally my first thread on VC.
  7. That's in reference to the comment about "charging money for it is laughable", so if people want it they can buy it, but if they don't then they don't have to buy it. The fact the theme was inspired by Play this Record has already been addressed. It's nice that everyone is very protective of Brian, but this idea was discussed with him before it even began, and he saw the design and the theme awhile ago before it was shown to anyone else. So can we please stop the negativity when this was just supposed to be a fun project and a cool way to catalog records. Let's not have this be an immature negative thread like the rest of the internet's forums.
  8. I'd take it up with Brian and Charlie, they thought it would be cool to have a WordPress theme that served the same functionality as his site. Charlie brought the idea to me and I spent a lot of my time developing it. If people want to develop their own record cataloging theme from scratch then they can do that, no one is being forced to buy the theme so chill my friend.
  9. Charlie, the one who designed it, and Brian are pals. They've talked about this theme for a bit now and Brian was given a copy for beta testing awhile ago. It's largely inspired by Play this Record and that's been noted in the release of it (http://www.charliewa...ordpress-theme/). And it's only $10! haha I put about 30 hours of development into it!
  10. If anyone is down with Colour, you should listen to their new band, Tangled Hair. I ordered the black version and I'm way excited to get it in.
  11. Was way excited to find the new Owen album and Achille's Heel in the same trip.
  12. Brian! I've heard a ton about you from Charlie. I think he did take quite a bit of inspiration from you of course. What do you think?
  13. To anyone who does pick up a copy, post your collections in this thread. I'd love to see how people use it. Haha ya Charlie is a good dude. We've been working on a lot of projects together, and he's the one who designed the logo and layout for the theme actually. Thanks dude! Ya if I hear about enough people who have their collection in Excel I'll put a recommendation for a plugin to use. What do you have your collection in now? Thanks dude!!
  14. Definitely agree, for a first pressing I was hoping it'd be a bit cooler. Still going to order it though, the new songs sound dope!
  15. Well I appreciate your honesty. It just took me a few months to develop it and a lot of my time, so I was basically hoping to make some extra money so I could afford to buy a few records each month. I hope that's not too much to ask. Most custom WordPress themes are $30 to $50 on themeforest.net so I didn't think $10 was too bad.
