Finally! I talked to Jade Tree a while before those TIH ones were pressed and they had said they planned on repressing them both. Awesome!

Glad to see you back, Patrick. It'd be cool if we could get another collective cover worked out like we did for the Finch cover. That was a lot of fun to be a part of.

Does anyone know if he does custom designs for the jackets?

 

Usually no, most of the time I just do a screenprint of the cover but I'll change it up slightly. I have done plenty of covers that was artwork taken from shirts, posters, patches, etc.

 

But if you're asking if you can give me an idea and i can actually design it, probably not. If its something relatively simple then sure no problem, but designing for me takes a lot longer than working with the artwork thats already there.

Most everything has been shipped out, only a couple haven't made it into the mail so if you haven't gotten yours yet you probably will this upcoming week. I'm going to PM the people who's jackets haven't made it out yet.

 

With that being said.

 

I'm leaving town for about a week-week and a half, I'm flying back to NY for a funeral. So if your jackets haven't been shipped they won't get sent out until I return. I'm sorry about the inconvenience, even though this wasn't something totally out of the blue it just wasn't something that was expected to happen right now.

 

I'll still be in contact with everyone and I'll still be taking orders if people want to make new orders. Just know that the turnaround time will be a little longer than usual. If you need to get a hold of me for anything, feel free to PM me.

Obviously I can't totally judge an album based on snippets but I already like the sound of it more than Midnight In America. But I'll have to hear the whole thing before I can really judge how it pars up to Witness, I'm sure I'm going to enjoy the album either way though.

In the process of designing some custom record storage shelving units. I'll post picures here as the designs come together and then as it gets built. It might be something I start doing for people (at least locally).

These look radical. Can you do gatefold jackets for double LPs? It'd be cool to get one for my La Dispute test.

I have to agree with you here. This guy has been really great with communicating with me. I'm picky and even ended up designing my own back print and he was very receptive. Can't wait to get this in the mail.

 

 

He's quick to respond and extremely nice on making little changes. Looking forward to hearing from him.

 

Thanks guys, Like I've said its honestly a lot of fun to do these covers for everyone on the board. Sure making a few extra bucks is nice but I can also understand the feeling when someone gets one of these in the mail and finally has something awesome to house their test presses in. Lets face it most people tend to drop a lot on test pressings and if you're gonna do it, it might as well look really good. I'm just focused on making sure everyone is 100% happy with what they get

as a basic starting point $15ppd for a single sided one color jacket, $25ppd for a double sided one color jacket

but I give discounts to people doing multiple jackets at a time and you'll save just on shipping also

Looking at this thread makes me sad that I've sold off most of my test presses now.

 

I think the only two i have left are Complete Control-Reaction /10 and Park-Building a Better_ Rejected Test /5

great idea. I always regret selling my circa and thrice records. =/ thats why i backed out of selling my violent waves vinyl so many time. I know id hate myself for it. I'd like to see what you guys come up with though.

Yeah, this guy does awesome work, is really easy to deal with, and has a great turnaround time. He did, I believe, three LP jackets and a 7" jacket for me. That Tell All Your Friends is one of mine. I really wish I had a test to get one of those matte to black jackets! Those look awesome!

 

 

Thanks guys! I'm really glad you were happy with everything. I'm always trying to improve the quality of my work as well as my equipment too, and its really a lot of fun printing these jackets for people I know appreciate them as much as I would.

Just got done with a few bigger jobs but I have open time now and I'm looking to do more jackets for people.

One-off test press jackets are obviously not as cost effective but they do look great if you've gotten sick of just seeing plain white sleeve or white jackets for test presses.

 

I can do small to large runs, and am also not just limited to jackets.

I love the idea of the b-sides of the 7"s being new bands. Its a great way for them to help other bands get their music out there. But wouldn't you want to price it lower and make it a little less limited (maybe 1000?) if you're trying to help bands get their music out to more people?
